Just curious have you some connection to the area?
You could pull the drive and make it a slave in another system to recover files before a reformat/reinstall, but it's not likely to help in repair since driver changes won't make it into the registry of the target. I'd try booting into safe mode (press F8 at load screen immediately after BIOS post) and either reinstall old driver set or use the system restore feature under the accessories menu to roll back to an earlier restore point.
There really aren't any that are that good. Scout is decent but most of the info I find is just on twitter.
