Haha, you'll get used to it. Passing is a lot more important in this version than some of the older ones. It's a pretty difficult game to get used to. But once you do, it's pretty rewarding.

I do. I think it helps, especially once you get used to it.

Hmmmm.. I'm not the best at explaining stuff like this. I usually bring the puck out of my own zone with a defenceman. There's generally someone open for a pass between the blue lines, and I'll find that guy to get the puck in the zone. Once I get it in the zone I'll either try to rush at the net and score fast or pass it back to the defencemen once they're inside the blue lines. I'll rush if I can get a clear shot (most of the time I can't). If I can't rush, I'll dump the puck into the zone, get it with one of the forwards, then pass it back to the defencemen to let the forwards get into position.

If you see one of the forwards in front of the net and your defenceman has a clear shot to him, shoot. Sometimes it'll deflect off him and go in. Other times I'll pass from the d-man to one of the forwards along the side boards and try to set up a one timer with whoever is front of the net.

Does that help at all? If all else fails, just go across the line at center ice and dump the puck into the zone. You can usually get it before the other team, or at least have a little battle for it. I usually just hold onto it until I see an open guy in the middle of the ice somewhere though (it's usually a center).

The video game is a little more wide open than real hockey. :p
