On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I’m joined by Jordan Williams to discuss our main takeaways from Ohio State’s transfer portal additions, their unreasonable expectations, and all the stuff Jordan missed while on his honeymoon.

We start the show with a celebration of Jordan’s matrimony and discuss his current energy as he returns to the show. After the wedding talk, we move our focus to what is really important, the fact we are now a Los Angeles Lakers podcast.

After that, we get into how the Buckeyes handled the transfer portal this offseason. To start the discussion, we dive into the additions and subtractions in and out of the portal. Then our attention turns to why Ohio State’s transfer portal philosophy changed so aggressively in a year's time. To close out the conversation we give our final grades on the holistic performance of retaining and gaining players for the Buckeyes in the portal.

Continuing after the break, we turn our attention to our most unrealistic expectations. This conversation starts with some more Tommy Eichenberg propaganda and moves into even more Tommy Eichenberg propaganda. After, we discuss our king, Tommy, our attention shifts to the other unreasonable expectations including Heisman candidates, reasonable fans, and Ohio State having the best defensive line in the country.

After that, our show closes with some quick discussions about everything Jordan missed during his honeymoon and a conversation about the best roster in college football.

Ranking of all time OSU Football coaches

Curious to the answers on this one. On another site it is interesting how people will get almost violent if they feel you are not respecting their favorite properly.

If this is somewhere else just shut this down and direct me as I am curious.

I would need to do some research. But pure success I kind of feel Urban is first and Woody second with the Sweater man 3rd. But I could be skipping some old timer that many loved...ect.

Now one could say that Woody created that which is the modern OSU football powerhouse. So he sits on top forever and everyone must bow to him. And honestly, on pure stories alone he is one of my favorite coaches. He was part genius and part insane person. As my wife says all the time the line between genius and crazy is a very very very thin one.

NCAA Basketball: Penn State at Ohio State

Joseph Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Are we beginning to see a shift in how the coaching staff shapes a roster?

“Bucketheads” is LGHL’s men’s basketball podcast, hosted by Connor Lemons and Justin Golba. Every episode they give you the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes and everything else happening in the college hoops world.

Try as they might, Connor and Justin couldn’t resist leading off episode 75 of Bucketheads by talking about Bronny James’ recruitment and recent commitment to USC. They hashed out why, for a long time now, James playing for the Buckeyes didn’t make a ton of sense logistically — despite how fun the idea was.

Then, they discuss Ohio State’s addition of sophomore forward Evan Mahaffey, a Cincinnati native, and graduate of Moeller High School. Mahaffey played one season at Penn State but will play his final three seasons in Columbus donning the scarlet and gray. The guys agree this is a high-reward, low-risk pickup for Ohio State, as he’s unlikely to start or be pressured to contribute in any critical way this season.

They close by discussing which college basketball player had a, “The worst person you know just made a very good point,” moment this week.
