In today’s episode, Jordan and DJ discuss Christmas shopping and the need for a vacation. In the news, DJ and Jordan discuss the hiring of Michael Vick as the head coach of Norfolk State. There was a conversation about the impact this will have on the university, the athletes, and the publicity the school is already receiving.

In the two-minute drill, Jordan begins with a rant about the disingenuous conversation surrounding the teams in the playoffs vs. those not. There is never going to be a set gauge for what qualifies a team for playoffs because there are varying degrees of separation. The only guarantee is: wins and losses. The teams that managed to pull that off are the teams in the playoffs, regardless of blowout games, they earned their spots. Jordan also discusses his issues with Kirk Herbstreit’s comments about Ohio State’s “Lunatic Fanbase”.

DJ and Jordan also discuss their takeaways from each playoff game. DJ shares her experience at State College and her honest opinions about the quality of both SMU and Penn State’s play. They also discuss the concept of home-field advantage and what teams are allowed to do when hosting a College Playoff Football Game. Jordan praises Cade Klubnik’s performance at Texas despite the loss. DJ praises Ohio State’s performance and doubles down on her thought that they should’ve beaten Penn State.

In the Pre-Game Power Sweep, we share which upcoming Bowl Games we will be watching.

In the Two-Minute Warning, DJ discusses her excitement about the scheduling of certain marquee matchups for Women’s college basketball like the UConn - USC matchup. Jordan discusses the drama surrounding the new NWSL Soccer team slated to begin play in Boston in 2026.

NCAA Football: CFP National Playoff First Round-Tennessee at Ohio State

Adam Cairns-Imagn Images

The guys are back to talk about Ohio State blowing out Tennessee and Penn State’s stellar defense.

Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s I-80 Football Show. On this show, we travel down I-80 to talk all things Big Ten Football. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week.

The Big Ten conference had all eyes on it with three teams — Indiana, Penn State, and Ohio State — in College Football Playoff games this weekend.

Indiana played one of their worst games on the biggest stage, leading to a disingenuous conversation on whether they deserved to be there. The Hoosiers earned their spot in the CFP, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to capitalize on the moment as Notre Dame bullied them for 60 minutes. Despite the poor showing, Indiana fans should be happy. This was the best season in program history and Curt Cignetti seems to be building momentum for 2025.

Penn State and Ohio State had dominant showings. Penn State scored two pick-sixes in a blowout win over SMU. Ohio State bounced back from the shocking Michigan loss by controlling Tennesse at home. When Ohio State plays like that and Ryan Day remembers to use his weapons like Jeremiah Smith, the Buckeyes are almost unstoppable. Penn State draws Boise State in the second round, while Ohio State is set for a rematch against Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

While having three teams in the playoff, the Big Ten will also have a busy week as most of their bowl-eligible teams take the field in the coming days. Rutgers, USC, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Washington, and Illinois all play between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. There are a few duds like Michigan-Bama and Texas A&M-USC, but we will be keeping our eye on Rutgers-Kansas State, Boston College-Nebraska, and South Carolina-Illinois.
