Zach Smith (Official Thread)

What a dumb assed poll.

A) Larry Johnson behind The Schmails Kid. Right.

B) by definition it would be impossible for a non traditional tier 1 program assistant to be top 20 recruiter. A dead cat should be top 15 if he coached at OSU under Urban Meyer.

How do they quantify these rankings?

Spaulding has been the longest tenured coach on Urban’s staff yet remains the lowest paid. Nuff said.
He’s also about ten years younger than everyone on staff besides the Grinch.

Interesting.

Meyer indicated today that Ryan Day will be spending more time with the Wr’s.

Since Day is seemingly the one responsible for implementing the downfield passing; I imagine he wants to ensure wideouts are dialed into the system and running/executing the way the way it requires. Just conjecture on my part — but that was my immediate thought.

to diddy's never ending point, a more competent WR coach wouldn't need the passing game coordinator to spend much time with the WRs personally.......that's what a WR coach is for.

Here’s the whole quote, since diddy hates context:

Q. Mentioned center and offensive line. But are there position battles obviously at quarterback, but for you that you're really looking at this spring that we have to get this figured out by --
COACH MEYER: Receiver we've been good. We've not been elite. I've challenged our coach. I've challenged Ryan Day who is going to be working directly with them as well.

I think we've been really good. We were elite in '14. We were elite. We looked at much more than just catches. We've been good. Last year very good group. Maybe not the first-rounder that was making the ridiculous catches all the time, but we look at the blocking. We look at more than just that.

So that's the position I want to see those guys develop into being.

Did we have a different WR coach in 2014 or something? To be frank, “really good” is a compliment to a group that had all of 13 combined starts going into 2017.
