Your reaction at that time?

When I watched it, I was not an Ohio State fan in the sense that I followed y'all, just that I liked the program and had a huge reservoir of good will toward you because of the 1997 bowl season - as Florida would not have won our first MNC but for your win of the Jake the Snake & CO. So I was pulling for you independently of my dislike for the coCaines.

I loved how the 2002 Championship game ended. I loved how they were punked by your D at the goal line. I preferred it to end that way, as the psychic damage to the five actual scUM fans would be greatest. It was not as satisfying a win to me then as the Bama defeat of the camo-wearing bragging thugs in 92, but it was indeed a sweet win. And I love how the scUm BCS games turn out when they leave the Orange Bowl.

And I thought then, and think now, that Tress is one of the classiest, most well spoken Generals you could ever hope to have on your sideline. I wish he'd hire an OC, but he is what he is and you get the package. And being perennial Big-10 Champs is such a huge deal that you really have to trust the guy whose offense won those Big-10 Championships, and not some Gator who wants to see a more exciting offensive package. I'm guessing Tress might know a little about what you guys need than me.

I was beside myself because Miami players had been hanging all over the Ohio State receivers, play after play and no flag had been called. I saw the overtime as nothing short of an outright attempt to steal the game from Ohio State.

So, my reaction was anger and stunned disbelief when the pass was incomplete. Then came the late call and the final ending of the game. I must admit that I was just stunned. A wonderful stunned, but stunned nonetheless!

I was watching the game on the giant screen at PromoWest and was very intoxicated, so my actual memories of the game are in random bits and pieces. All I remember is everyone going nuts once the flag was thrown. Once Cie Grant clobbered Dorsey I began running around screaming "We won!!! We won!!!" over and over like a madman, high fiving and hugging everyone in sight. I called my folks hanging out the car window while my friends and I were driving up Neil Ave. towards campus amidst 18,000 honking horns, and wound up at LaBamba after hitting the Jailhouse/Alcatraz

No place for women, children, weaklings, cowards, Buckeyes, or any combination thereof.

No words can describe the joy. My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack from the fist pumping and shouting yes! over and over.
But then again this has happened to me many time before over the last 54 years of being a Buckeye.

I was watching it with my dad in his living room..... like we watched alot of games and I remember how I couldnt believe we made it to that game and I just wanted tOSU to keep it close.... when I saw that Miami was overwhelmed with our defensive speed I started to feel like we could take it to them then in 02 like fashon we were in OT I kept thinking about the Gamble non call and was puckered up so tight thinking we should be celebrating our NC already. When the ball hit the ground I was looking for a flag when it didnt come out I felt what it would have been like to lose that game... then we had life and it went down the only way it could have gone down that year.

Off topic but I spoke to an NCAA ref who lives here in town. I asked him about that call and he laughed and said that every year at this huge convention for NCAA refs they show that play as an example of a good call.... He said Fouts was so fucking stupid saying the Line Judge should have called it. The instructor showing the film said if the line judge pulled the flag he would never get a BCS game again. He has an assignment and its not the reciever. The ref that made the call was right.... then I said he should have pulled the flag earlier.... he said no everything was kosher he is supposed to register what he saw before throwing the flag.

After the game Winslow Senior (in an extremely bush move) asked JT on camera what his definition of PI was. Jt's answer was spot on then and says it all now.

"PI is when the man in the striped shirt throws one of those flags."

I think the quote was something like: "I know it's pass intererence when one of the guys wearing the funny hat throws his hanky"

 :p
