Your favorite mayonnaise

Sounds good. I'll have to try that.

It has a different taste (I'm 99% sure it's not soy though), but it grew on me pretty fast. (The wife refuses to get anything else)
If you're looking for it, it's usually packaged in just a sort of flimsy plastic bottle with a red cap -- not much in the way of markings. But Japanese use it almost to exclusion of everything else. I have a feeling its "healthier" (maybe less fat involved), but I've got nothing to back that up.
Good luck.

Every time I pull out the Miracle Whip, my dad likes to point out.......

"You know thats not really mayonnaise, its salad dressing".

Yeah, we know Whip is not MAYO. Does anyone use it as salad dressing though?? I can't imagine putting a salad together and then slapping some Whip on it, that just sounds putrid.

You can buy it in Asian grocery stores, the Asian section of larger grocery stores, or even places like World Market.

It's the stuff that you use to make spicy sauce for sushi rolls.
Mmmmmm! Spicey Sushi!
Who could have guessed that! :tongue2:

I'm sure the Belgians would choose Hellman's hands down.

According to American culinary celebrity Alton Brown, Belgian pommes frites are usually fried in horse fat. Others maintain that traditionally, ox fat was used, although now nut oil is usually preferred for health reasons. Belgian fries must be fried twice, and about 10-13mm thick. Fries with Mayonnaise is a national dish of Belgium, often eaten without any side orders. Even the smallest Belgian town has a frietkot (a Dutch word literally meaning 'fries shack' which has also been adopted by the French speaking part of the country in addition to the French friterie; two alternate Dutch forms are frituur, from French friture, and frietkraam, which means about the same as frietkot).
