Doug Donley

I'll second Doug Donley. That's who I always think of when I see #47. Doug Donley is actually a cousin of mine. He is a good man who is happily married to a former Cowboys cheerleader and has two adorable kids. Still one of only two players to lead Ohio State in receiving three straight years. Who is the other one Buckeye Historians? Can anyone also tell me where in Ohio there is a football field named after Doug.

If by receiving, you mean the number of receptions, there are now 3 players that led the team 3 straight years. Charles Bryant (who was co-leader 1 year), Doug Donley, and Michael Jenkins.

Matt Keller was one of the first ones to come to mind... but he's been mentioned. I'll also have to go with Nail Diggs... he was one of the reasons that the KAT was able to do what he did.

Hey TxBuck, "White Lightening" was a great one for the Buckeyes, too bad he got wracked up with Dallas. Try Paul Warfield as the other one that led the Buckeyes for three straight years. I think he caught 4 passes in each of his three years :roll1: . If he were playing today, he'd have 100+ per year......

Players to recall:

Birtho Arnold
Dave Katterheinrich
John Mummy
Joe Sparma (when he came in, everyone knew it was going to be a pass). When Don Unverferth was in, it was going to be a run (both QBs).
Rex Kern
Bob Ferguson

Only 8 more days until the Buckeyes tee it up!!!! :gobucks3: :gobucks4: :banger:

Ooops, looks like BB73 scooped me.........but where was Warfield in that list? I think we only threw to one person per season in those days........
"When you pass, three things can happen, and two of them are bad" -WW Hayes.

But with the O-lines we had, and the plethora of backs, even had a trio of fullbacks one year that took turns pounding on the defense. Not pretty, but effective......anyway, I'm certain that someone will help me clear away the fog......
