YSU wins 28-21...will play at Appalachian State next week. By the way, it was broadcast by ESPN Regional, so whoever said in another thread a while back that ESPN doesn't have regional games is wrong.

Congrats to the Penguins from an Appalachian State Mountaineer (I teach here). I've really been looking forward to this match-up. Should be a great game. But I've got to warn you--Appalachian is playing like a team on a mission, worthy of our #1 ranking, the #1 seed, and another National Championship (Go for Two!!).

Hope some of you make it down to Boone. It's a great I-AA venue. If you're coming down, let me know and we'll arrange to meet.

Ain't it great? Both my teams are #1.

i wish i could make it to NC next weekend, but I have finals the week after and can't afford to make the trip.

This should be a good matchup, but the YSU defense hasn't been playing its best lately, so a loss wouldn't come as a shock. I can still hope for the best though :biggrin:

YSU better key on the quarterback, that guy is the quickest thing I've ever see n coming out of the backfield. Believe me, he's scary quick. Doesn't impress me throwing, just incredibly quick. App's defense is pretty good too, big, and quick to the ball. They play on Field turf and take advantage of the footing. I wish the Penquins well!

Just when it looked like YSU was going to get blown off the field they put together a TD drive to get back in the game, down 14-7. Irrizarry had a nice catch and run on the drive.

That first quarter was ugly, and if the Penguin defense doesn't stiffen it's going to be a long day. Go Pens!
