Yo! First real post. =)

Now that's some customer service... very impressive!!!!

OH ... IO!

I'm happy as a clam now. I didn't mean to be a pain before, and I was more-or-less kidding about the scarlet thing, but that's nice... real nice! Also, being able to type first, format later is a HUGE improvement.

{sacrcasm font on} Now all you need is a sarcasm font and you're all set! {/sarcasm} :wink2:

Not a pain at all! The vbCode button thing was a brilliant suggestion, and as much as I love the difference now, I probably wouldn't have thought of the need myself in the craze to get this all going.

So keep those suggestions coming. The scarlet and gray thing was just ridiculously easy, and a fun little extra IMO.

The funny thing is I could make {sarcasm} {/sarcasm} actually do something. Maybe white text with a black glow? Hmm.

-edit-

Yeah, I did the logo. It's actually a second generation version, the first was the text alone with really poorly (rushed) drawn laces in the middle. Which looked to everyone like a zipper.

:oh:

Nutty, I'll figure it out and fix it now.

For anyone else going through the same thing, it's one of two things.

Either in your options, you've opted to receive email notification and simply need to turn that off ('user cp' > user options > Email Notification).

Or when you posted something, you were brave enough (easy when there were only like 5 of us here) to check the Email Notification option.

-edit-

Nutty, in your case it was your first two posts that had the option checked.

I don't point any of this out to be an ass, just so other people with the same problem can familiarize themselves with the issue.

You almost definitely are done getting emails (unless you ask for more), but that should do the trick.

If it causes too many problems for folks, I'll disable the option. But used properly it could be pretty nice.

We're all still getting used to the features here, I expected some bumps and bruises. Appreciate everyone's patience.

If new user registrations are setting email notification to "yes" by default, I better figure out a way to change that soon, or there are going to be a lot of annoyed people.

I *believe* that if you have the option checked, than any time you post, the option is checked in the posting window by default. Meaning everything you post asks for email notification until you uncheck it then and there, and/or uncheck it in your profile.

Hmmm, off to go look at templates and see if I can default to 'no' for new users.

Can anyone confirm it's preset to yes when you're signing up? Meaning instead of choosing yes, you have to choose no?

Scratch that last Q. I found the option in the template, set the default for newbies to "no". Shouldn't (IMO) come set out of the box to yes.

Nutty (and BuckJim), thanks for leading me to water on that one. Sorry again about the headache.

Clarity,

I'm a moron... the box was up but "behind" this screen... I was trying to open something that was already opened (it would be nice if it would pop it up in front of the post screen, but that is my computer, not anything you could do on your end)... sorry for the false alarm...
