Someone is going to get fisted tonight in the Bronx. Whether it is the Yanks or Tigers remains to be seen.

Nova gives up 2 solo homers in the first inning and leaves after the 2nd inning in favor of Phil Hughes. Interesting.

I thought Leyland was going for Coke to face the 2 lefties but he went with the righty Benoit, who didn't get either of them out.

Percentages, over the course of 162 games, should not be ignored.

Benoit walked in a run, but got the next five outs and the Tigers are 3 outs away from victory. Valverde has not blown a save this year, but he hasn't had to get a tougher one, either.

Spoiled Yankee fans in the stadium boo their players for making outs. I guess they'll have to buy a few more all stars this winter. Fuck 'em.

If they buy Jose Bautista... I'll never watch baseball again.

Correction: I'll never watch baseball so long as there's such a financial gap between the top and bottom of the MLB. Every professional sport has a salary cap in place. Why in the fuck would baseball not follow suit? If anything, it would make the game itself a whole hell of a lot more interesting. Plus this whole GRUELING 162 game season is for the birds. 162 games isn't necessary.
