Wrestling Chat (WWF, WWE, WCW, etc.)

It’s been TV PG for years now
And I should add, I am not one of the people who says marketing wrestling so kids can go to shows will never work. Yes, it gives us John Cena for years, but it also stops many of the injuries and long-term effects that come from ECW bloodbaths, so the roster stays more in tact. But, rather than just go for that, they’re still putting Mcmahons over (it’s Shane’s turn at the moment) at the expense of everyone else, in some sort of horrific attempt to keep part of the attitude era alive, while going with Cena and the Reigns, who really belonged in the comic book 80s era. It’s a mixture of suck that has never worked. And don’t even start me on grandpa “hardcore” matches like they had at Wrestlemania

Or they could just take care of the talent with things like insurance and proper pay. But the WWE probably doesn't have the cash for that sort of thing.
Even if they did, which they should, the bloodbaths still cause the injuries. On of the unpopular things Vince was right about was that ECW had zero shelf life because guys who want actual careers aren’t going to wrestle in ways they are guaranteed to get seriously hurt from within 2-3 years. I think the newer style is better for the athletes, I think the asshole creative team have just mailed it in as the stock price went up, and they squelch the talent so much with bad scripts that the outside ring stuff even sucks now.

Glad I didn't tune in. I thought about getting up early just for shits and giggles. Here is the best match according to CBS Sports.

Cruiserweight Championship -- Drew Gulak def. Akira Tozawa (via pinfall) and Tony Nese (c) to win the title: Hot friggin' fire. The in-ring chemistry between the three performers was off the charts as the high-flying and stiff style of Nese and Tozawa meshed perfectly with Gulak's power game to produce a thrilling spot fest featuring a handful of well-timed saves. The pace was off the charts, and the high spots were extremely memorable including a senton off the top rope from Tozawa that broke up Gulak's submission attempt on Nese. The finish came after Nese was sent outside of the ring and Gulak landed a torture rack neckbreaker on Tozawa for the 1-2-3. May the dawn of the Power Point Era begin. Grade: A-
