I hate to agree with that, but I have to. His dumb bounce back clothesline and stupid "jump thru the ropes shove" are just so bad-it's worse than Austin's Thesz press. When Tommy Rich does a move better than you...

Austin's press didn't get shitty until he couldn't jump enough to make it look good though...Ambrose's stupid moves have looked stupid since the beginning....

Hulk Hogan made a career out of taking three hits to the head, wagging his finger and then doing a leg drop. Yes, I'd like to see Ambrose get a push but I am ok with some of his trade mark ring moves.

Guys, I'm well aware of other guys with limited move sets, I guess it just irks me how he goes to the clothesline multiple times a match. It reminds me of the luchadores who do six huracanranas and head scissors per match. Hogan AND Flair had signature moves-I'm thinking of Flair always getting tossed off the top rope-but their facial expressions sold the move as part of the story.

Maybe part of the issue is that these guys are televised 2/3 times a week. It was always fresh when you got to see Hogan in a singles match. Maybe I just don't get Ambrose, I'd much rather see Kevin Owens.

So am I reading this right....Survivor Series will have no traditional survivor matches....?

I'm hoping Kevin Owens wins the title but i'm sure we're headed to a Reigns vs. Ambrose match.

Was also just watching Monday Night Wars and they had a line about how the WCW failed in the end because they were too stuck on the old guard and didn't build up any of their mid card to be future stars....well, I guess Vince hasn't watched the show or else he'd learn a lesson from that one.

I heard Greg Gagne (Verne's son) in an interview talk about how he gave Bischoff the rough idea which eventually became the NWO. He basically said that they (Turner) would run both the AWA and WCW at the same time and only have them meet at big PPV events. They had the two largest stars of the 80s/90s and could basically run two large territories-the AWA and WCW. At this time (1994) WWF had very few established stars, and with most territories closing there was a lot of talent to be had.

Hogan could hold the AWA belt, Flair the WCW. The upper Midwest could have the style of wrestling they loved and so could the south. In my opinion it could have really hurt the WWF. I always thought that diminishing Flair and WCW and pushing WWF retreads killed WCW. There are fans that love pro wrestling that left and will never come back.

When WCW let guys like Show and Jericho and Guerrero and Benoit sit under all the old groupies (Hogan, Hall, Nash, Savage, DDP, etc)....it was obvious what was going to happen.

Even though Hall should have held the world title at one point...

Not the rehash the MNW, but basically they fell into the same trap that many TV shows, even good ones like House of Cards, fall into. That is, they spent their capital developing a super entity NWO), which was the coolest thing ever for a while, but with no equivalently strong foil, the story gets boring pretty quickly. Then the politics take over, because everyone knows (NWO and non NWO) who are the untouchables when there is really only one side. It's hard to build your identity around a character or group and then tear it down some, but without it, they were doomed.

The ironic thing is, even in their own stupidity, they still built Sting/Hogan almost perfectly for upwards of a year...had they not botched that like a Browns running play, they may still have come out on top. Instead, they used their biggest coup (Bret Hart) to sabotage their greatest chance. They just couldn't get out of their own way.

So who are the guys you would build as formidable foils for WWE to be watchable again?

Babyface: Cesaro and I'll throw a curveball....bring him back as Bad News Barrett instead of King or whatever he's called now. He was getting so over before he got hurt.
Heel: Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt (can the guy win any type of rivalry?)

Well, it is tough when everyone keeps getting hurt. Bryan was the perfect underdog, average guy, Dusty Rhodes type champion. He is gone. I think Rollins was well on his way to Zybszko/Bockwinkel territory as a heel champ, and he's gone. So the current list is:

REIGNS: Not a big fan, but he has the look, strength, and pedigree, and last nights match showed how good he can be in the ring. Sucks on the mic though
Ambrose: he is fabulously unpredictable, which means he is better as a Foley type wild card
Wyatt: if they use his family right, he can be a dominant heel. Harper can really go. Arrow man is a monster.
Owens: Here is your next main event heel. Needs some mic work, but he has the arrogance, power, and anti-hero following to make it work.
Cesaro: something is going on behind the scenes we don't know about, because he is crazy over and has all the tools.
Ziggler: great as a baby face in peril, but his best work is receiving, so he is a midcarder
Barrett: Better as a heel, but I don't see him as a top heel. Upper midcarder
Neville: could be a Jeff Hardy type champ if they spend some time building him. His wins and crash and burns could be equally spectacular.
Del Rio: he has all the tools, but this new gimmick sucks goat udders.
I also think Big E has great potential, as does Titus o'Neil

BTW fuck these cockstrokers if they don't add any Survivor Series matches to the Survivor Series. Wanna spice it up? Take 8 guys from NXT, and anyone left standing gets entry into the RR. Or, take 8 midcarders, and anyone left standing gets to draw from #20-30. This ain't rocket science, people.

I'll watch NXT all day over WWE. I'm glad Tyler Breeze is getting his shot...he was always getting worked over and taking one for the team down there making others look good and he's getting rewarded now for it. Hopefully his rivalry with Dolph Ziggler puts him over.

There were rumblings Finn Balor will be introduced by Undertaker much like he was....that would be a great transition, and a fitting one. Kane, Undertake, Balor....expand the Ministry of Darkness to the heir.

Uhaa Nation/Apllo Crews is just a matter of time; future heavyweight champ IMO. Baron Corbin needs time to develop but has potential. Samoa Joe would be a great heel, Itami has potential in the mid card, a poor mans Daniel Bryan. Sami Zayn I hope comes back soon from injury and jumps into an Intercontinental battle with Owens.

They have sooo much talent in the tag team division....although they wouldn't be a title team, I think Cassady and Amore would be very entertaining, would love to see their promos against New Day....Gable & Jordan, the Vaudevillians, etc.
