WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

For what it's worth, he told this guy Dokish, who is one of the best recruiting writers in PA, that he doesn't want to go to Florida because he thinks Tebow is so loved there that he will start no matter what. That was a few months ago, though. Don't know if he changed his mind since.

If true i agree 100% with his theory.

Tebow is a hero down here, I can't imagine how bad he'd have to play to get benched and whoever replaced him would have to be Joe Montana from day 1.

Imagine Zwick living up to the hype from day 1 and being parct of a NC his freshman year. No way you ever supplant him barring injury.

There's practically no way Tebow doesn't start.
Both Chris Leak and Urban Meyer got boo'd MULTIPLE times when Leak was in the game, when the fans wanted Tebow... Fans LOVE him, there is absolutely no way he doesn't start IMO. Urban Meyer would get assassinated.

Damned conspiracy theorists.

Tebow will be a Soph this year. He'll be a Junior when Pryor gets to whatever school he gets to. Assuming he even sticks around for his Senior year, that's only 2 years where Pryor wouldn't be the QB. 1 if he redshirts or if Tebow leaves early.

Does Pryor want to start from day 1? Could he even do that here?

IMO, (I'm saying this about any team but Florida is my example) a quaterback isn't the starter just because he is loved. He (Tebow) has to earn his position especially at the program he is at. You don't start just because all the fans like you. You have to win the job. Now if Pryor does end up going to UF, do I think he will beat out a Junior for the starting job as a Freshman, hell no, but it is absolutely possible. But in general, no quarterback's job is completely safe because he is loved, he has to earn it.

Not to take this thread off of Pryor, but I just can't let this one go.... Tim Tebow will start because he's the best QB for the system Meyer wants to run. I have no doubt he'll have the job, but I also have no doubt that Meyer isn't the least bit interested in fan popularity. (At least in terms of who gets the ball)

If u take what that guy said seriously... then it isnt a matter of having to sit on the bench too long... Man, Tebow could leave after his junior year and Pryor could start in year two...

But it sounds like Pryor isnt too interested in Urban's pitch of "Come on down, learn from Tebow for a year or two and then take the job"... Sounds like TP wants to be "the guy" when he gets on campus... He has that shot here... I know we got Henton in the mix, but too be honest, everyone know who Tim Tebow is.. not many people, Pryor included probably know Antonio Henton..

Don't forget that Boeckman will be a GS-senior and Schoenhoft a RS-junior when Prior comes to campus. It's all but assured that Terelle would be holding a clipboard for his first year...

If Boeckman is at the helm, as expected, I doubt he'd scare Pryor off from his dream of being 'the guy" immediately... whether that dream is a realistic one or not.

Terrelle will have stiff competition at any quality D-1 school and I hope his coaches have informed him of that. I'm sure he already knows.

Regardless, to be the best, you have to beat (or supplant) the best. If you want to be the next Troy Smith, go to a school with some of the best recruits across the land and beat them out ya know? If you want to win championships and start 3 years at this level, do it. Hopefully Terrelle doesn't look at our future QB depth and shy away. The cream will rise to the top and I think adding Terrelle to our wealth of QBs will only push the competition harder.

Reel'em in. Get him on campus and let's see who might start from Todd, Rob, Antonio, Joe & let's hope Terrelle.

Im not talking about being "the guy" immediately, in terms of starting QB from day 1... Just from the standpoint of when Terrell Pryor gets on campus, all the juice and hype is gonna be about when he takes over the ship...

However, Tim Tebow will be "the man" down in Gainesville til he moves onto the next level.. that is a fact.. and Pryor will have to deal with being in the shadows for a couple years while Tebow runs the team and is worshipped in Gator Land... Then he's gonna have to beat out another 5 star dual threat QB for the privledge of following and living up to Tim Tebow..

At Ohio St. the moment Pryor steps on campus he's going to be in the limelight since Todd Boeckman isnt exactly the type of QB who is goin to be drawing all the Buckeye and National attention... He gets to sit a year and then battle it out with two less publicized recruits...

I think the choice is easy if you're goin strictly on the limelight factor..

I know it's probably a stupid and unimportant detail, but didn't Pryor make a statement about not wanting to go to UNC because "it's too hot down there"?

I know it was probably an offhand comment, but if he thinks that it is hot in North Carolina, then he would hate it in Florida.

Any little detail helps .

If your kid was a big time RB would you want him going to OSU to compete with Archie in his last couple of years then have to be the guy who replaced him? Thats what Tebow is down here.

If Pryor said this it tells me two things. He is confident enough to think he can compete from Day 1 anywhere he goes. He is smart enough to look for a school that still gives him the best shot at doing that. I like smart, confident QB's.

No matter where he goes, if he were my kid I wouldn't want him to follow Tebow. Nothing good of it can come for Pryor.
