WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

The call on Dane was HORRIBLE. The ball was tipped and still live when he was hit.. how in the hell can that be a dead ball personal foul? If they called that on us - there would be a meltdown on the board.

Helmet to helmet when the ball was over his head and three yards past him? Cheap shot all day. I don't care if it was Malcolm. Throw the flag every time.

I like that TP talks...because he can back it up. If The Senator wanted him quiet, he'd be quiet. He's not, so I assume JT thinks we need that too.

On Terrelle though.. do you think he will develop more arm strength? Or is that one of those - either you've got it or you don't qualities.
I don't think we'll ever confuse his arm with Chad Henne's or even Troy's... but when he gets his feet and body set properly, he can put some nice zip on the ball.

If a call like that would have been made up, the explosion on these boards would have been 10 times that of Hiroshima. There was a similar no call in the Wisconsin game on a hit on Boom. Although I do think that making the call was right, they just made the wrong one. Dane was obviously in a very vulnerable position and there was very unnecessary helmet to helmet contact on the play. In my opinion that should have been the call and not the one that was made.

The ref didn't explain it right, but it was a bad helmet to helmet, wich is still a personal foul. Good call. He shouldn't have said "dead ball", that made him look stupid.

I like seeing him jawing with others. It kinda shows how far along his game has come this year. It's great to see someone that doesn't back down from anyone. Maybe that's why JT hasn't put a muzzle on him yet and he's hoping his teammates will feed off of his energy.

I would imagine that they're trying to make TP's throwing motion a little more conventional. I'd think that would help his arm strength, since he'd be using his body and momentum more than his arm alone. And he's still young; he has a couple more years to improve arm strength.

I like your football IQ more than mine, so I might be talking out of my ass here.

They weren't similar if I remember correctly.

Boom was blocked where as Dane was going after a tipped pass.

The hit on Boom is a pussy hit. That block can be made without decleating the player and be just as effective.

I will admit, I was in the stands so I couldn't see any other angle than the replay board.. If I'm a defensive back, and the ball is tipped, I'm making the hit on Dane. Perhaps the helmet to helmet call is correct, but calling a "dead ball" penalty didn't sit well with the fans.

This is football.. while I don't support "cheap shots" like the one on Boom or any hard "blind" block - I don't feel that the one on Dane was cheap with seeing what I say on the scoreboard and from the stands.

I do feel for Dane, as he gets hit hard about every game.

Agreed, a proper motion will help get more zip on the ball.

I guess the comparison is like a baseball pitcher. If you teach a guy the proper motion - it will improve accuracy and it will improve strength. It may make a guy throwing 88 throw 90-91.

Get what I'm saying? Either you have it or you don't.

I haven't been blown away with his arm strength.. but it does look like he's pushing the ball and guiding it in, instead of letting it fly so maybe he does have some arm strength we haven't seen yet.

Thats my only complaint with TP thus far - he doesn't have a big time arm. But as soon as I say there isn't zip on his passes he'll throw a beautiful deep ball..

If you posted this before the NU game, I'd agree with you. But I think he's shown a ton of improvement since the PSU game and has displayed the potential to have a big time arm. Technique and his comfort level with passing are still holding him back from really slinging it out there.

Me too. What a lot of people fail to realize is that 9/10 people initiate the talking with him. Everyone knows him and the hype, so they try and get into his head and talk down to him. Who knows what he says back, it must not be too bad because he usually gives them a little tap or something kind of blowing them off.

If someone is going to come at you like that, I'd expect you to have some words. I'd rather see that then someone back down. He can let some of his play do the talking yes, but I still like it.

I'm not a fan of the comment about "It's easy, like High School." I don't like that mentality, and I'm sure some people are going to say something about that to him. Overall I love the passion and everything. If you can back it up like he can, why not talk back?
