Yeah...Paterno's response was even more elementary than RRod's impact. Should TP have gone to PSU or scUM, I'm sure JT would have at least gave a tad bit of his opinion. You can tell from that article that the Big 10 is going to be gunning for us like no other year imo. I know we are always the target, but I think you can sense in the other coaches that they are tired of OSU.

I fail to see how the likes of PSU and Mich. can moan and complain about losing Pryor to the Buckeyes. Michigan is in disarray and Rich Rod's offenses have a difficult keeping their QB healthy. Penn State is stuck in 1986 and showing no signs of departing any time soon. Why wouldn't Terelle Pryor prefer to come to Ohio State.

The "Gentleman's League" has quickly gone away and the gloves are off.
This is now our version of SEC football, where coaches only offer grudging respect and are quick to stick the knife in the back. Zook was the start of it. And with the new generation of coaches(Brewster, RichRod), it just gets lots worse. Tressel may say we root for our Big Ten members (out of conference), but I don't see even that from the other coaches/programs.
It's dog eat dog, now. Screw em! Beat their asses. On and off the field!

Who do I want to teach me the QB position?

Coach A: Notable proteges include Shaun King and Pat White.
Coach B: Notable proteges include Zack Mills and Anthony Morelli.
Coach C: Notable proteges include Dan Marino and Troy Smith.

Tough decision if I've got aspirations of winning awards and having a career in The League ...

I do see a little of that, but I don't think it's universal yet.

I haven't heard much from Bielema that bothers me yet, and since he was Alvarez' choice, I can at least hope that he's nothing like the guys you mentioned.

Say what you will about Alvarez, but he was very much a pro-conference guy. He openly expressed his desire to see Ohio State win the NC after his own Bowl Game in 2002. We won't see RR do that, ever.

Part of me wants Pryor to redshirt so we have him longer, but the other part of me knows we need him this year if we want to win it all. The main reason we lost both BCS games(offensive wise) is our 3rd down conversion. If you put Pryor in the same backfeild as Beanie(two AAA MVPs) on third down we should be unstopable.
Nothing against Todd i think he is a great QB, but I'd like to see Terrelle out there on 3rd downs as much as possible because it will give defenses headaches having to completly switch up there play style.

A redshirt has no bearing on when a player can enter the NFL draft. The timetable is determined by the length of time since the player's HS class graduated, IIRC. If he took a redshirt in 08, it's very likely that he would see only two years of action. Redshirting can extend the college career of a player who will not likely see the field as a true freshman, and expects to stay in college more than three years. In Pryor's case, if he lives up to a third of his hype, NFL scouts will be begging him to leave in 2011.

Yea, but Wisconsin plays nobody out of conference. I guess Brett Bielema didn't have a whole lot to say about that.

He did say that the second stopped fake field goal was the real turning point in the Ohio State-Wisconsin Game.

That, or Jim Tressel put Beanie Wells in the game.

As for Terrelle Pryor, I hope he dislikes Illinois, Penn State, and (even more so) Michigan as much as I do.

Hey Herbie, remember Jimmy Clausen? The only reason he didn't recieve the same type of hype Pryor did was because he couldn't wait to put some gel in his hair, hop in a limo and show off his high school rings to everybody.
