Sure, teams are eyeing him up every play. However I also think that "Heisman" talk has gotten in his head a bit. Noticed it in his cutbacks and whatnot the last couple weeks. The one kickoff return last night, he was gone if he stayed to the outside. Not knocking him, I am sure it's very hard NOT to let all the hype get to you a bit, but I just think it has effected him somewhat.

lets all remember ginn came in to osu as the top db in the country, you all are saying his routes aren't that good, we are puting him at a position that he didn't come to play at ohio state and i think he has done a great job at WR, i think osu should focus more on Gonzo at Flanker and put Ted Ginn at a DB position and let him become a better WR in practice, i'm not saying take him totally off of offense, but with him on D we wouldn't be giving up the deep ball like we did against texas

Let Ginn be Ginn.

The short WR screens and 2 yd outs can do as much to take a player out of the game as to get them into it. Easy completion, easy to stop for little gain. Ginn and Ramonce combined for 4 receptions and 13 yards off these plays. You have to get him the ball at speed. He can only dance around so long while the D starts to converge.

I don't like the quotas, either...although that is probably more for the fans. With a playmaker, getting touches while in position to make a play is more important than the number of touches. Unlike an Eddie George or Cedric Benson, they aren't going to wear defenses down and get more effective as the number of touches go up. They demoralize defenses, and can do so with only one touch.

Of course, if he's going to be an every down player, you'd like/need him to make catches for the first down consistently as well...and block for others if that is an issue.

The hardest thing to realize is that his trick plays are because he makes them happend. His plays in which he reverses to the other side (ie. Alamo Bowl) are because he did that spontaneously. Now when he lines up, hes looking at the defenders accross to him thinking, "Ok, theres a DB maning up and a Safety gunning for me. I gotta get this ball shake him off to the left, reverse around and trying to sneak past." He preforms better when he does what FEELS right. Hes just been trying too hard to do too much and thinking it all out which would explain his dropped passes. Seemsalso like last year he did everything to escape a tackle, now it seems like hes afraid to be tackled.

Gonzo is a gamer, but there are few players in the country that have the ability that Teddy has. Teddy scoring twice next week will be great, but I would rather have those scores against top notch competition. Two scores against Iowa will show me more than two against SDSU.

Teddy may be suffering from a few things. All of the pressure the fans and media have placed on him, which we have a tendency to do. Hell, look at all the pressure put on Justin "Time" Zwick before he even stepped on campus. Also, Teddy is not the unknown he was last year. He now has to rely on more than just surprising and out-talenting people (I think I just made up a term). His development this year should be a combination of good coaching enhancing his God given abilities. Also, his father's sickness may be having more of an impact than any of us know. Reports are senior is fine, but just going through that has a huge mental toll.

What in the hell does everyone expect of this guy? He wasn't immortal all year long last year. He was a gamebreaker. He didn't play every game. I've said this since the beginning of the season that people were expecting way too much of this guy. It's all because of his speed and gamebreaking ability.

Give him time for fuck's sake. I don't see people starting how in the hell does a 5th year senior drop a pass in the endzone thread.

I think one reason why the shot ginn was created was not only to get Ginn the ball, but b/c of his downfield blocking. I am sure he works very hard at it tho.

I would like to see him run routes like a slant, comeback, or outs. I think that when he lines up in the shot ginn that he is easily accounted for b/c he starts 3 yds. off the line of scrimmage, and all he is really able to do is run the flare route or and out type route.

I think he needs to line up in the slot off the ball a little to avoid the first hit from a db and then get down the middle of the field or run and out and let him break it, with only a guy or two around him.

The best thing is that it is opening up single coverage on Holmes who is one of the best route runners I have ever seen. If Holmes has single coverage you have to go to him, like Smith hit him for the td and Zwick last week.

Ginn is struggling, but he will get it together, when he settles down and lets the game come to him.

well, DUH... i not sure if that stupid statement even deserves a response, but Jenkins is arguably the greatest receiver in Ohio State history, and if not, is no worse than top 5...

Teddy has played receiver for all of 9 games... let's give him another 20 or so games before we start comparing him to Jenkins...
