WR Santonio Holmes (Super Bowl XLIII MVP)

I've always been real straight forward about the fact that I hate the early entry's, guys that I feel have used CFB as a "minor-league" system to reach the Pro's. Guys like Andy Katzenmoyer.

That being said, Santonio Holmes, in my book, is NOT an early entry. The kid has eligibility, but he's put in his 4 years. He's performed with class and grace that should be an example to present and future Buckeye players. On and off the field, he has been a pillar of what represents the best in TOSU student-athletes.

I don't wish Santonio "Good-Luck"

I wish him "Great-Luck" Although with his talent I doubt "luck" will have little to do with it. Thanks for all you've contributed to this program Santonio. Now go get that big Paycheck!! You and your family deserve it.

Despite the fact most of my "elder" family members refer to him as "Sanantonio", I will always remember watching Santonio, and the rest of this "senior" class do what i didn't think possible. Going 3-1 against scUM, and 4-0 in bowls, not to mention a NC.

Thanks for the memories.

FWIW, the elder members of my family always called the basketball player "JAN ANTONIO" just something about the extra "A" they cant get away from.

I just hope Philadelphia doesn't draft him.

I'd be ecstatic if Philly drafted him. He would fit perfectly into their offense, and he would be on a very good team (with all of the injured players coming back next year), and have a very good QB to play with. Holmes would have an immediate chance for success, and he would be part of a classy and professional organization. With all of the TO drama starting to end, Philadelphia would be a great place for Holmes to start his career.

Back on page 10 I posted some stats on where Santonio could end up in the all time OSU WR record book.

Well his season totals were 53 catches/977 yds/11 TD which gives him a career line of 140/2,295/25 and makes him the following:

Career Receiving yds: 5th
Career Receptions: 5th
Career TD's for WR: 3rd

Folks we just witnessed the career of one of the 5 best WR's in OSU history.

Congratulations to Santonio and whatever NFL team is lucky enough to draft him.

I just heard that Santonio is expected (verbal, but no signed contract yet) to sign autographs at the Miami Valley Center Mall, Piqua, OH on Saturday January 28th. No time has been anounced yet...one free autograph per person, one additional signature for $10.

I'll post more info as I get it.

So basically, two of Ohio State's top five WR's in terms of receiving yards came under Jim Tressel's boring, conservative offense? Interesting.
