WR Santonio Holmes (Super Bowl XLIII MVP)

And so is the nail in the coffin of the myth that Zook is somehow just a swell guy, who coaches sportsmenship as much as football. It's obvious the team is totally out of control, and half the time Zook is out of control on the sideline. The players may love him, but it seems more and more that this is because he lets them do anything they want. There is a fine but definitive line between intensity and assclownness, and obviously the Illini players crossed it most of the game.

But take heart Zooker, you aren't alone. Basanez said in an interview up here that Iowa was playing dirty and taking cheap shots all game last week, and then finished with "I guess that's how the teach football down there". Wonder what Saint Ferentz thought of that? Hilarious.

Basanez should know dirty play when he sees it, since he plays for the Northwestern Nut Punchers!!

So what if Holmes was celebrating a win? He just ran onto the field holding up his helmet. He wasn't saying shit to anyone, or rubbing it in to Illinois players in any way.

As for a player from the opposition celebrating a win on our field, you're damn right they'd get drilled, provided they were over the top (dancing on The "O", plating a flag on our field, etc.), since it ain't their field to celebrate on. Texas ran onto our field holding up their helmets after they beat us, but nothing more. You didn't see any of our players getting into their faces, because Texas displayed restraint and kept it sportsmanlike.
I saw the same thing you did on TV, and after a 40-2 BEAT-DOWN it was over the top. Again, it was illinois. Act like you've been there before. So what if they were talking shit all game ... Did you see any other buckeyes running around like fools after the game? I wasn't there, but it didn't look like it on TV. Holmes is good, but gets way too involved in shit talk and posturing.

Every buckeye saw it all play out before their very eyes the week of the Penn St. game. They mid-week press-conference shit talk, followed by him fucking up a play right off the bat and cheap shotting the PSU DB after a couple words were tossed his way. Mentally, he wasn't where he was supposed to be. I'm not gonna say it affected him the rest of the game, but it definately messed with him on that play, and it could have cost us 15 yards.

He's got to have a little more respect for the game ... he could very easily be drafted by somebody like the texans next year and end up getting the shit kicked out of him 40-2 every week.

I guarantee you if you asked tressel, he'd tell you that santonio "probably should have made a better decision there".

Santonio was celebrating his second to last (or possibly last) victory in the shoe ever. Perhaps he does talk too much (I haven't seen it), but I'm not gonna be the one to judge him based on a very brief snapshot of him.

I don't know where you dream up this stuff, but Holmes, while animated on the sidelines, doesn't instigate shit on the field. No one gave Holmes a hard time when he ran out to The "O" last year after The Game (see my sig pic). He's one of the team's emotional leaders, and if he wants to run onto the field after a win and show some emotion, that's fine...it is in no way rubbing it in. Don't make Holmes to be the bad guy when Illinois' punk-assed DBs decided to continue talking shit after getting their asses beat. Fuck 'em.

After the Indiana game, some Hoosier player was talking smack and Malcom Jenkins just pointed straight to the scoreboard, thought that was cool.

And I agree with Mili, I love Homes' style and his love for the University, he's always up in the front for Carmen Ohio. On the field, he seems to just go about his business as I've observed.

I thought Holmes showed amazing restraint by not only not bust that punk ass in the mouth, but by not even visibly jawing back with him. Everytime that guy would start talking Santonio would just walk back to the huddle, without even giving the guy a second look.

A little off topic, but when Zwick was in for the last 8 minute drive of the game, did anyone catch the more uhh...animated than usual Troy Smith... I guess if I threw damn near 100% in the second half I'd be pretty happy too.
