WR Michael Jenkins (All B1G, National Champion)

Clarity said:
You misread my point. Never said he wouldn't be fine. Pointed to poor QB play, pouring rain, and one of the tougher D's in the league as reasons why he wasn't shining.

If I misread anything it was the "I'm not too worried about it" comment you made directly after you quoted something I said about his performance. I guess I assumed you were inferring that I was worried. My follow up was merely an attempt to point out I wasn't worried about Michael Jenkins. Apparently we're in agreement. I never tried to say otherwise.

Jenkins doing Well...

The first pass I just saw thrown his direction on NFL channel versus vikes was a TD. Nice lob down the left sideline by Shaub on a pump n go. The safety came across the field and bounced off him. 47 yard td. 10 minutes later ESPN Classics had him scoring a TD versus NC State. 44 yd td on the ref pick.

Wasn't last years game a 12:00 kickoff ? I believe it was. If thats the case, then that's why we got the turd announcers.

This years game is a 3:30 kickoff so I imagine we'll have a better announcing team this time around.

:oh: :io:

Jenkins will be catching a lot of TDs in the future from Vick or Schaub, or both. Schauby is a solid backup, and will be a good one if Vick's injuries continue to plague him. Schaub is consistent as heck, shows a lot of poise in the pocket, and ran a very wide-open offense in college.

And we all know what Jenkins is gonna do if the ball is thrown in his general direction. He's gonna serve some fools. He caught a friggin' bomb that he didn't even see because of the lights against Illinois...and tiptoed his way down the sideline.

Holy Falcon just doesn't sound as good as Holy Buckeye for some reason though.

What is the deal here? Why is he not involved? He is a 1st Rd draft pick and has 5 catches......does he not the Off, speed, bad routes, etc? I just thought he would have more of an impact.

Any insight and input is appreciated.

He's still good. He's getting in a lot more now. They wouldn't've beaten Carolina last week if he hadn't jumped on a fumble inside the 10 yard line that set up Vick's hydroplane into the endzone.

I've been keeping an eye out for him, but the problem is the depth at Atlanta. They have good depth at WR and currently Mike J is the 4th preference behind guys with more experience. He's been getting more PT but Peerless Price, Dez White and Brian Finneran are each exceptional WRs. Against Carolina Jenkins had two or 3 pretty decent catches. One was for a first down and he got a bogus taunting penalty for spinning the ball on the ground right next to some guy- you might've seen it as Paul McGuire and Theismann got into their typical husband/wife argument over whether or not it was stupid.

They've got him in on special teams and he did get smoked today on a kickoff return for a TD, but all in all I think you'll probably see him move up the depth chart next season as they trade Finneran or White for some more OL or LB draft picks.
