Marvin Harrison Jr. is now one step away from becoming a unanimous All-American for the second year in a row.
The Ohio State wide receiver made the fourth of five All-American teams that determine unanimous and consensus All-American honors as he was named a first-team All-American by Sporting News on Wednesday.
Harrison will be a unanimous All-American if he is named a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association. He would become just the fifth two-time unanimous All-American in Ohio State history, joining offensive tackle Orlando Pace, running back Archie Griffin, fullback Bob Ferguson and running back Howard “Hopalong” Cassady.
In addition to the litany of All-American teams he’s made, Harrison also won the Biletnikoff Award as college football’s best receiver this season, was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Receiver of the Year and finished fourth in voting for the Heisman Trophy.
Harrison was the only Buckeye named as an All-American by Sporting News. With just one major All-American team left to be revealed, Harrison remains the only Ohio State player to earn first-team All-American honors for 2023.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is officially a two-time unanimous All-American.
Harrison became the fifth player in Ohio State history to earn unanimous All-American honors twice when he was named as a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association on Thursday. He was previously named as a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Associated Press, FWAA and Sporting News, the other four organizations that determine consensus and unanimous All-Americans.
Harrison, who last year became the first-ever Ohio State wide receiver to earn unanimous All-American honors once, joins offensive tackle Orlando Pace (1995-96), running back Archie Griffin (1974-75), fullback Bob Ferguson (1960-61) and running back Howard “Hopalong” Cassady (1954-55) as Buckeyes who have earned unanimous All-American honors twice.

Marvin Harrison Jr.'s ever-growing list of accolades just added another line.

On Thursday, the star Ohio State pass catcher received the Chicago Tribune Silver Football, an award presented annually to the best football player in the Big Ten. Harrison becomes the first Buckeye wide receiver ever to take home the trophy and the 23rd Ohio State player overall to win it, with the most recent being Justin Fields in 2020.
It's an additional bit of good news for Harrison after he completed the gauntlet to be named a unanimous first-team All-American for the second year in a row – becoming just the fifth Buckeye to do so – on Thursday.
Those achievements add to a season in which Harrison won the Biletnikoff Award as the best pass catcher in college football, was named a Heisman finalist and took home Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Harrison caught 67 passes for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns in the 2023 regular season, surpassing 100 yards in eight of Ohio State's 12 games. With a 1,263-yard campaign in 2022, he's the first Buckeye ever to post multiple 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
Harrison also holds the record for the most 100-yard receiving games in Buckeye history and is the only player to haul in three touchdown receptions in three separate contests.

Now not practicing at the bowl site per Eleven Warriors so that's likely the end of any speculation of him coming back.
Yep. At practice but not dressed and just riding a stationary bike.

Would've loved to see him play one more time but sitting out is the smart move for him. Go get paid, young man.
Yeah I am a little torn on that one. Would love to see him play, but if he got hurt it would be awful. Plus since he is moving on to the NFL, him sitting out gives our other guys more chances at WR to show what they can do. So it benefits both sides really imo.

Yes, Marvin had the torch passed to him in a similar way. Now, it's his turn to pass it on. I'm happy he is at practice and with the team.
