This is a guy who wants to be great. Some guys go along with the redshirt because they need to, don't feel they are ready. Other guys aren't sure if they should redshirt or not. Some guys know they belong and say the hell with a redshirt I want in this game right now and I'll make a difference. Kojo feels he's the latter and I hope he's right

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
"I'm just focused on getting better and learning from the older guys like Marvin (Harrison Jr.) and Emeka and Xavier (Johnson)," Antwi said. "I'm just trying to improve my game every day."
He does not view the loaded WR room in a negative light. Quite the contrary, in fact.
"It's great," Antwi said. "It's just great having the best receiver coach in the country (Brian Hartline) and the best receivers in the country to learn from every day. It's definitely something you want to be a part of."
Antwi explained what makes Hartline such a great coach and recruiter.
"He's very detail oriented," Antwi said. "He's very precise with every little detail as far as routes and landmarks and things like that. And just all the things you are going to need to know before you go to the NFL and all that. So, I feel like he is preparing all the receivers the right way to succeed here and in the league."
Antwi had offers from several top programs coming out of high school and he explained why the Buckeyes won out.
"I would say just the brotherhood and also Coach Hartline and what he preached to me and how he wanted to make me a better receiver," Antwi said. "It's definitely something that I took interest in."
Antwi then discussed his skill-set as a wideout.
"Mainly I feel like my strengths are speed and playmaking ability," he said. "Those are some things I feel like I can do pretty well."

Great attitude and in rarified air these days. Stick to the process, trust your coaches, and look to the success at everyone who has done that. Antwi is one I could see breaking out in moments even with MH Jr/Egbuka/Fleming...rooting for this kid.

He got opportunities... didn't always capitalize on them in Spring game(and from what I hear the same issue in practices). I think consistency is the biggest issue for he and the 2022 WRs. Following up one good practice with a bad one, and then an average one with a bad one. With this WR room, you can barely have an average day, because you'll get passed up FAST!

Good news is if Antwi is patient, he still has time to develop because we likely won't need him much this year and there will be more spots up for grabs next year. Just needs to keep progressing this summer and throughout the year, crazy talented kid that I was really excited to land as a recruit.

I was excited for his signing too. But MAN, the talent even next year(on paper) is insane! He’s going to be battling Tate, Rogers and JJ Smith at the X. Yikes!

Dallan Hayden Among Several Non-Freshmen Who Could Redshirt for Ohio State This Season
Ryan Day said Tuesday that Dallan Hayden is likely in line to redshirt this season, and four other non-freshmen could be candidates to join him.

Antwi quietly burned his redshirt last season by playing in five games. It would have made sense for Ohio State to redshirt him last year, considering he played no more than seven offensive snaps in any of those five games, but it appears likely the Buckeyes will make up for that by redshirting him this year.So far this year, Antwi’s only game appearance came on special teams against Western Kentucky. He hasn’t seen any offensive snaps in a loaded wide receiver corps, so unless he becomes a regular on a special teams unit, it’s unlikely he’ll play in any more than four games this season.

SHOUTOUT KOJO ANTWI. Like the Ohio State running back room, the Ohio State wide receiver room will also need to have depth if the Buckeyes want to accomplish their goals this season.
On Thursday, Day said several receivers have "flashed" in preseason camp, including Kojo Antwi, Jayden Ballard, Bryson Rodgers and five-star freshman Mylan Graham. Of those pass catchers, it seems Day has been most impressed with Antwi, who will enter his third season with the Buckeyes in 2024.
"I've been very impressed with Kojo Antwi," Day said. "He runs good routes. He's become very accountable."
The praise didn't stop there for the slot receiver from Suwanee, Georgia.
"I just like his work ethic," Day said. "He's really changed his body. He's changed his life. He's changed his habits. I'm proud of the preseason Kojo's had, and we really need him to be a guy who can help us this year. I see some things in him that are pretty special, and I'm hoping that we can continue to build on that."
I was surprised when Antwi didn't enter the transfer portal this offseason, especially considering his place on the depth chart behind Emeka Egbuka, Tate, Inniss and Smith — maybe even Ballard and Rodgers, too.
But Antwi's still here. He's impressing his head coach. He's proving doubters – like me –wrong.
I hope he continues doing that this season.
