Don't love that for him. With his lack of production and injury history, that slow 40 time is going to keep Fleming from continuing on in any professional setting, unfortunately.

Don't love that for him. With his lack of production and injury history, that slow 40 time is going to keep Fleming from continuing on in any professional setting, unfortunately.
I still remember the first pass he was thrown. If he catches it, he houses it.
Feel sorry for Julian. Not sure what happened. Even after transferring, he was not a factor for ped.

I don’t want to be too unfair to Julian…..he came into to OSU from a HS system that ran triple option.
Kid was an athletic freak out of HS, but also extremely raw.
Had he been a bit bigger, I actually think OSU would’ve gone the Gee Scott route with him. At one point, I was told OSU actually broached him switching to TE but realized he just couldn’t put the weight on necessary like Gee.
Anyways, I think it’s a classic case of a grown ass kid putting shoes on at camps but not having the technique down. He was raw as hell coming in, and got somewhat developed, but just never put it all together.

Look at his apparent level of fitness (for that level), his weaving run, and his production at PSU and you realize what the future probably does not hold.
At first glance, one sees a kid that came to Ohio State to compete against the best, lost his first year to COVID-19 lockdowns, had injuries, fell behind on skills development, and couldn't find the magic.
A deeper look sees a young man with incredible maturity and class, who never once said anything negative about Ohio State or Penn State. Who never blamed anyone else. Woody Hayes always said that you get a good thing from every bad thing. His setbacks and his response to him have prepared him to be especially effective in his Ohio State degree field, human development and family science.
So, I guess what I see is a great kid who has suffered incredible obstacles, yet appears to be set up with the potential to make an incredible contribution to the world.

Julian is an athletic freak.
Julian played in a triple option offense in HS. But when he got the ball he was an absolute stud. The assumption, based on camps, was this kid will be absolutely elite. The truth is, when he got to OSU, even as the best WR prospect in that class, he was by far, the least developed coming in. That’s not his fault….it’s just the nature of the system he was trained in through his youth.
It’s not quite fair, bc Gee Scott Jr. had just a bit wider frame, but always felt Julian would’ve been a nasty flex TE if he could’ve gotten over 230 lbs. As is, I think he’s a tweener who probably struggles to make an NFL roster…..no ill will at all…hope he does great things in future.

The Green Bay Packers signed Fleming after the draft to a UDFA deal, but news broke that Fleming failed his physical and was subsequently released....
According to the report, Baltimore, San Francisco, and Washington are still interested in giving Fleming the chance to compete at their respective minicamps. "Fleming arrived in Green Bay on Thursday, but after the Packers informed him they’d no longer be signing him, he quickly returned home to Elysburg, golfing with some friends at Knoebels’ Three Ponds Golf Course by midday Friday."
He had re-torn his hip, plus was dealing with the aftermath of bulging disks in his back.
We'll see if Fleming can prove to be healthy enough to compete or if injuries will strike the young man's career before it even begins.

I wonder when he decides to finally hang up the cleats. He was a very good raw HS WR, and just couldn't put it all together in college, a lot of it due to injuries. But he can still have quite the successful post CFB career(guys like Cardale, Chris Fields, Evan Spencer, Mo Clarrett, Josh Perry come to mind)
