OHIO STATE
6'3" | 197 LBS | WR | 2024
CHAMINADE MADONNA

There is no smoking gun to think the five-star receiver is slowly backing away from his Ohio State pledge and there are people close to Smith who believe he will stick with the Buckeyes especially if position coach Brian Hartline stays and especially if former 7-on-7 teammates
Carnell Tate
and
Brandon Inniss
shine early in Columbus.

But Smith has asked some close to him to ask USC coach Lincoln Riley why the Trojans slowed down on him and his weekend visit to Georgia went really well as he and five-star QB commit Dylan Raiola now talk often.

Gotta sell them subs...

The funny thing is, with all of the analysts/writers falling over themselves to write about his UGA visit, and it's implications. He's stated in multiple interviews that he's visiting OSU twice in June alone. 2 times in 4wks! And one of those times he is only visiting to see the campus, talk with coaches and build even more rapport with his future teammates(and hopefully continue peer recruiting).

Air Noland too:

OHIO STATE 2024 COMMITMENTS JEREMIAH SMITH AND AIR NOLAND TAKE TO SOCIAL MEDIA TO CONFIRM THEY’RE LOCKED IN WITH THE BUCKEYES

Since committing to the Buckeyes in December, Smith has taken multiple visits to different schools, most recently to Georgia earlier this month. Other planned visits for Smith in June include Florida State, Florida, Penn State and of course, Ohio State. While Smith hasn't been shy about taking visits to other colleges, he's always maintained publicly that he remains steadfast in his commitment to OSU and envisions himself playing in Columbus as long as Ryan Day and Brian Hartline remain employed by the university.

Well said by KJsr

(For reference, JJ Smith is having fun with social media and has gotten many fans butthurt- OSU fans included. He deleted all relation to OSU on his Twitter account. Honestly, who cares. He enjoys the obvious attention he's getting from adults who are obsessing over every comment and move he makes)

These S. Florida kids are almost always a roller coaster ride. Sometimes even after they're fully committed and on the roster.

They know how to play the game, and they know that they can cause ripples in any fan base that is interested in them. I don't fault them, they're kids. The adults who fawn over literally every tweet or interview are the insufferable ones, IMO. If you're old enough to be a kids parent(or even grandparent) then you have no business tweeting at kids trying to "sway" their decisions. And they definitely don't have any business bashing a kid who doesn't choose their program

Most definitely.

This is the high point of many of these kids lives so far, and for a majority probably the highest point as so few make it to the next level, much less become stars at the next level.

But for a high school kid the courting from many programs probably feels nice (especially since a fair number of recruits might not come from ideal, supportive home conditions).

Attention and acclaim are hard for adults to deal with, much less kids.
