JJ Smith is the best WR recruit overall since Julio Jones/AJ Green in my books. Reminds me of Garret Wilson, but just more freakish somehow. I said it and mean it. He is making very respectable players look like he is in the NFL and they are in Pop Warner.
I am confident he will stick with the good guys and it should be just a ridiculous WR room that interestingly enough will likely headline three Florida WRs in Innis, Tate and Smith. Plenty other contenders obviously but JJ Smith is so good that there is no way he isn't on the field immediately, with the caveat of he has to be a willing blocker. That is a non-negotiable for our staff but nothing I have seen indicates he wouldn't be that type of guy.

Smith even tweeted out a photo of the two playing back when they were young and it could be a major pitch moving forward to flip Smith from Ohio State. It could be an intentional recruiting tactic actually as the Canes, Georgia and others try to flip him as well.

Talk about an epic mic drop. Already love MH Jr, but this is next level. Kid gets it. JJ Smith is smart, knows where the real payday is just like Marv.
I don't necessarily disagree with NIL, but the kids who obsess with it are not the ones betting on their future longterm...

Thought the same thing - this is the exact message we want to drive home. NIL is going to happen if you're a star, but a program that develops you and supports you in all areas of life is more important. I think the staff is balancing that pretty well.

Too soon old, too late smart
If you hear it from a peer, probably has more weight than if you hear from an adult. Know it was/is that way for me. As one gets older, realization hits that that person has 'been there, done that', but as an 17-18 year old, not so much. RB07, you said it very well, and maybe tOSU coaching staff will read your words, and repeat them to (hopefully), the parents of the kid in the room, who certainly want the best for their child. Haven't heard about the 'Real Life Wednesdays' much lately, but that too is an important piece of the equation. My motto, "too soon old, too late smart" is the embodiement of this philosophy. Go Bucks! PS, appreciate tOSU way of making the kid a better person, as well as a better football player.

Smith's floor is arguably as high as his ceiling, making him as close to a can't-miss prospect as you will find in the 2024 class. It almost seems unfair that the Buckeyes will likely add Smith to the nation's most talented receiver room, but there will be plenty of jockeying for his signature come signing day, with the trio of in-state schools – Florida, Florida State and Miami – as the most likely destinations should he flip.
