If these trends don't continue into the 2022 season it will constitute positive proof that Hartline is a complete failure and needs to be fired. And don't give me any weasel words like "impossible" or "ridiculous" or "LMFAO"; JSN himself said he could get better in every phase of the game. Impossible is a word for losers. Get it done. 700 yards per game (in the first month) or GTFO

Which trends? He increased from maybe 65 yards per game in August/September to 350 yards per game in December. Let's say 3 months to increase by 285 yards per game. Quick math says he should be increasing by 75 yards per game per month. Or... are you going from 150 yards per game in November to 350 yards per game in December? That's 200 yards per game per month. Big difference.

Also, are we counting February, March, April, ... ? That's 7 months. Or is it just one month from January to August?

So... he could be increasing by 75 x 7 yards per game, 675 yards per game. Or maybe just 75 yards per game. Or maybe he's increasing by 200 x 7 = 1,400 yards per game. DANG! That'd bring him to 1750 yards per game in August.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS. Anyone with eyes and a television can see that Jaxon Smith-Njigba does all the things right on the field. Turns out, he's pretty good off of it, too.

He got to meet one of his biggest fans this week, and I think it's safe to say he absolutely made the kid's day.

Here's what the kid's father had to say, from the Instagram post:

My son, Kolton, is a 4th grader at Tuscarawas Valley Intermediate School. He has had some challenges this year with behavior in the classroom and the Guys With Ties program has helped tremendously with a lot of it. Without getting into great detail about some of the things he has to deal with and making this a 4 page email, the program has lead him into mentoring a couple of 2nd graders in the school. I notice him opening doors for people, thanking people for helping him, and we get notes from teachers about him helping other students with their work.

He is a HUGE Jaxon Smith-Njigba fan and was able to give him his tie and wristband. As a father, watching your child meet his hero is one of the greatest feelings you could ever have. Kolton was physically shaking with excitement after a photo with Mr. Smith-Njigba! He said " dad, every time he puts that tie on he will think of me!". If you could thank him for me I would greatly appreciate it.

The ride home was 2 hours of reliving the details of the greatest day of his life, and I can't thank you enough for this experience, not only the practice but the Guys With Ties program. We are big Buckeye fans in this house and the way we were treated by everyone in the building on Saturday makes rooting for all of you even better! What a great group of players you have.

Talking to a fourth-grader after practice is a relatively small thing, but taking the time to make someone else smile should always be celebrated.

National Fashion Brand Express Names First Two College Athlete Style Ambassadors

960x0.jpg

Express EXPR, Inc., a national fashion apparel retailer, is taking advantage of new name, image and likeness rules to sign the brand’s first-ever collegiate athlete style ambassadors. Ohio State football players CJ Stroud and Jaxon Smith-Njigba will serve as the first two ambassadors in the program.

“The announcement of our partnership with CJ and Jaxon signifies the growth of what we call the Express Styling Community, a community connected by the confidence people find through personal style. Our portfolio includes our Community Commerce Style Editors, associates, influencers, brand ambassadors, and now collegiate athletes,” said Sara Tervo, executive vice president and CMO at Express.

“As we build and engage our styling community, we look for partners who embody our brand purpose to create confidence and inspire self-expression. We chose CJ and Jaxson—two outstanding collegiate athletes from our corporate hometown of Columbus—because they live our brand values and exude confidence and style both on and off the field.”

Tervo says the brand heard Stroud was already a fan of Express and had been shopping with the brand even before they reached out about a partnership.

“We love identifying brand relationships where someone already has an affinity for the brand.”

Stroud says he and Smith-Njigba had actually been shopping together at Express shortly before they heard from the brand.

Henderson not on the list makes it invalid.

Henderson: https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4432710/treveyon-henderson

Allen: https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4685247/braelon-allen

Corum: https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4429096/blake-corum

Yeah, compare the 2021 stats, Henderson is very comparable to Allen and beats Corum in every category. Stroud and Smith-Njigba are the consensus #1 & #2. They just had to spread the other 8 spots around to other schools. I'm surprised that Cheese has 2; Herbig must be pretty good too.

2023 NFL Draft: 10 highest-rated WR prospects entering college football season, per Lindy's

1. JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA, OHIO STATE
10838015.jpg

Jaxon Smith-Njigba's Rose Bowl performance to finish out the 2021 season was legendary. The second-year player finished the 2021 season with 95 catches for 1,606 yards, setting both a program and Big Ten records and is "the guy" in Columbus now that Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson have exited the program as first-round picks. Smith-Njigba took full advantage of his teammates opting out of the postseason and his his record-setting bowl performance pushed him into the way-too-early Heisman conversation ahead of his junior season with the Buckeyes. You're not going to find a more complete wide receiver nationally and the offseason hype is warranted.
