Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
“He … spent the first two years of his career with us and then you know, in June, headed down to Alabama and really at the end of the day, it was just one of those things where we had Jaxon Smith-Njigba, so we were (basically fine),” Hartline said. “We just had an honest conversation in the spring, long story short, it just kind of was, you know, there's pressure to put myself in position to be a three year and out kind of guy. (But I said), listen man, I don't know if I can guarantee you that right now. But if you're here and graduated, a fourth year, you're going to reach all of your dreams. You're a top 15 guy … I thought fairly highly of him. I love (Jameson) … We did everything we could to make sure he was successful and everything he accomplished at Alabama, I'm so happy for him and his family, right … I fell in love with him (during) my first fall. And you had to develop a little from a route perspective … He did a phenomenal job and had a great spring. (But I have a lot of love for Jameson). I remember talking with Detroit and just about how much I thought of (Jameson) and I think everything he's received is well deserved. What a heck of a player.
Hartline also opened up on what Williams can do in the NFL to be successful.
“So I think for him to remain successful, it'll just be the consistency level,” Hartline said. “I really hate to be a broken record, but it always comes down to that. He had a great, great year down south. And now(go) do it again. And then do it again. And then don't get bored and you've arrived just like every athlete wants you to and have a good year. But he’s a ball guy, he loves to compete, loves to practice, so he has the makeup of being a guy that can play football for a long time.”
