James was surpised by the offer and has already visited Purdue, Northwestern and Nebraska and has trips set to Clemson this weekend and Florida on the 25th. He likes tOSU's depth chart and will decide whether to visit Clemson or tOSU.

It's official after (I believe) September 1 of 2012, for the 2013 class. The mods aren't always keeping that part updated. So don't read too much into it.

While you are correct on the dates, feeler offers like this one are likely "verbal" until the recruit makes it on campus and then it may or may not become "official".

Clark to meet tonight with Clemson

 WR James Clark of New Smyrna Beach, FL will have an in home visit tonight with Clemson recruiter Jeff Scott and will decide after that visit if he will make an official visit to Clemson or Ohio State this weekend. That's a critical decision because he has taken three visits and is set for Florida next weekend, so the team he doesn't visit will be out of contention. Clark met earlier in the day at school with his Ohio State recruiter. Clark said early this evening he was leaning towards visiting Ohio State this weekend. He has visited Nebraska, Purdue and Northwestern

What a weapon.

This kid is the truth. Wherever he ends up he will be a superstar. And at the end? He just hands the ball to the referee. What class.

I haven't seen a player this frightening to a defense since TGII. I still remember the look of horror on Lllllloyd Carr's face when Teddy caught a punt that went for a TD ... it was as obvious to Carr as to anyone that there was no point in trying to defend him once he caught the ball.

This kid Clark has magic in his feet. He will be a first-round pick, no doubt in my mind. Best I've seen in a few years. And yes, I know it's highlights, but oh my gosh he is good. Any fewer than six stars is not enough.
