WR Garrett Wilson (All B1G, 1st Team All American, 2022 OROY, New York Jets)

The intellect it takes to know how to tip that ball with a modicum of force, allowing you to reposition the body and adjust to the newly batted ball, and then secure the catch is just next level.

People can watch that 100 times and not recognize the brilliance of it. The guy made about 5 decisions within a half second, that led to a secured catch.

How many receivers try and 1 hand that, pinpoint it at top, or get offensive PI shoving defender off ball?

He just decided I'll tip this thing to myself and catch it on way down.

Elite intelligence, elite athleticism.

WILSON, RUCKERT HAVE BIG DAYS FOR JETS

On the other end of that game, it was a much better day for the New York Jets’ two former Buckeye pass catchers as Garrett Wilson and Jeremy Ruckert both had their most productive games of the season.

Wilson caught nine passes for a season-high 108 yards to lead the Jets in receiving while Ruckert caught three passes for a career-high 37 yards.

Ruckert’s day was highlighted by an impressive second-effort catch on which he dove to catch an 11-yard throw from Zach Wilson and tipped the ball to himself before securing possession.

It was a record-setting day for Garrett Wilson as he now holds the Jets’ franchise records for receptions (159) and receiving yards (1,956) in a player’s first two NFL seasons.
