WR Garrett Wilson (All B1G, 1st Team All American, 2022 OROY, New York Jets)

Also doesn't hurt that Day had a big role in getting GW to pledge here. I think Garrett is committed to the school primarily, but if Day wasn't named HC I would be more nervous here.

I will gladly take a recruit committed to Ohio State University rather than a head coach. I get it, Urban Meyer is a household name but the guy up next is a product of him and the offense should be the same when he is gone. Wilson has to be happy with the offense he has seen this year and I can’t wait to see him in S&G.

Always want a kid committed to the program over a coach, but easier said then done when you have a top ranked recruit from Texas. That is what makes this one really cool, it isn't like he is an Ohio State legacy. GW is definitely a special recruit in that respect and I hope he thrives in our program. Not just because he is a 5* top recruit, but because he is a kid that is truly committed to the program and wants to be a Buckeye. He has been every step of the way. Definitely see GW being one of my favorite players in the next few years, on and off the field.

Garrett is coming in at the perfect time. Hartline is an incredible position coach, Day is an incredible offensive mind, and there is a huge opportunity for GW right out of the gate. It's tough to think of our receiver group after Dixon, Campbell and McClaurin all leave, but I feel better a lot better knowing we have Wilson coming in to join a group of Olave, Hill (hopefully), Victor and Mack. Garrett will get an amazing opportunity to learn from some veterans, but also get immediate playing time at a high level. In terms of true WR recruiting prospects we have had, I truly think GW might be the best and most well rounded WR prospect we've had commit here since I have followed recruiting. Posey was right up there and Ginn of course was one of the best we have had, but he was more of an athlete coming out than a pure receiver. Really excited to see what he does here.
