WR Duron Carter (Official Thread)

Duron Carter scored 2 TDs as St. Thomas Aquinas beat Dilliard 49-8 in in Friday's Florida 5A Regional semifinal.

On the Raiders' first play from scrimmage, quarterback Ryan Becker hit receiver Duron Carter with a 10-yard touchdown pass to extend the St. Thomas lead to 21-8.

''I was impressed by that,'' said Smith of the two touchdowns on two plays.

Becker ended any hopes of a Dillard comeback with two more touchdown passes in the second quarter.

Becker and Carter hooked up again, this time for an 11-yard touchdown pass.

This kids gonna be a great possesion WR to go with James Jackson or Lamaar Thomas as the Speed guys on the other side, with Chris Fields or Jordan Hall in the slot. That will be a great WR corps in a couple of years, thats too many toys for Mr. Pryor

A friend of mine who follows Broward county football told me that Duron is probably one of the smartest players at his position to come out of Broward county. He manages to be at just the right place at the right time to catch the pass, never too fast nor too slow.

I don't have complete stats yet for Carter, but his team did win 35-14 tonight against Largo and will play for the state 5A title next Friday night, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. in Orlando against Lakeland. Carter did have a 1 yard TD reception in the 2nd quarter and started off nicely with a 21 yard TD reception in the 1st quarter.

As I mentioned once before in another thread, the 5A title game will be televised on Sun Sports. Those of you with DirecTV, Dish and certain cable networks might have this as part of a package and thus you can watch this magnificent Buckeye recruit in his final high school game.

His team is currently ranked the #1 HS team in the country and they looked it tonight. One of Largo's TDs came in garbage time.
