The Ohio State bound senior made all the right moves and isn't likely to stray anytime soon.
"I haven't got here to this place without people who've helped me," said Devier.
"A lot of people have helped me ? my coaches, my Mom ? she's my biggest supporter, she keep's me going everyday. My family members, my friends, my teammates," continued Devier. "And I think I got the easy part. All I've got to do is work hard and do the right thing ? and that'll keep me on the right track."
And his Mom isn't the only one tracking his progress, Bengals receiver Chad Johnson wanted to pay respects to a young man whose future is bright beyond words.
"The first thing he said is, 'I respect the game, I like what you do' and he said one thing more, 'I want to be just like you,' ? and I stopped him and said, 'Brother, you don't want to be just like me. You want to be good at it."
