WR Dane Sanzenbacher (Official Thread)

Dane Could Replace Gonzo

If Small gets Ginn's spot
Who gets Gonzo's slot receiver position? Hartline? Dukes? Or maybe Frosh Sanesbecher(sp)
So, we got Robo out wide with Small.
And Hartline in the slot. With the "Great Dane".

Some speculation for 2007 with Gonzo leaving has created some opportunities for the new recruits. Dane has been compared to Gonzo all season long and could step up to be the slot receiver. The depth in WR's is pretty good and 2007 may find Dane, Hartline or Taurian Washington competing for the same spot.

For any freshman to start at WR he would have to be really, really special!
I don't know if any of the frosh are that.

That's true, these newbies have a lot to face as freshman, the experience that we had will be gone and only the very special will fill those positions. Dane has some special abilities but only time will tell.

Hard for me to believe there are 56 wide recievers better than Dane but it's nice to see him bumped up to a 4 star.

I wanted to say more about this. Dane works very hard and his play will tell the real truth. Regardless of where he stands tOSU has made a good choice. If there are 56 WR's out there that are better, then college football will be very entertaining in the next few years. I know there are those that may be taller, quicker, and better known. IMO, there aren't too many that have the all-around ability that Dane has. Those stats speak for themselves.

Do the math. That's over 3800 yards and 29 TDs if you count KO's and punt returns

Toledo Blade Comments about Dane and Saine

These recruits are used to playing in the "big game" under the lights. Both have been on winning State Championship HS teams. Both have that game breaking ability. The exodus of Ginn, Gonzo, and Pittmam has given these recruits the opportunity to play next year. Are they ready?

according to recruiting expert Steve Helwagen, managing editor of Bucknuts Magazine...

"The opportunity is there, and we could see Saine move right into the running back rotation, and Sanzenbacher might get a chance as a true freshman to crack that lineup at wide receiver"

That's Dane "slowing down" Brandon Saine in the TCC vs Piqua round 1 playoff game this year.

Tressel Visits Dane

Coach Tressel visited Toledo Central Catholic HS today and talked to Coach Dempsey and Dane Sanzenbacher. My source had no information about the visit but the students used the opportunity to get their notebooks autographed! Local news reported on his visit, I missed the report.

dont toledo kids generally end up as 5th WR's at best?

I hope you were kidding or else that is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read. Ding away...I don't care if this constitutes insulting a member or whatever. Proof positive that you have never seen Dane play a snap or you are a horrible evalutor of talent if that is what you really think.
