WR Dane Sanzenbacher (Official Thread)

Dane speaks about the new coach, he's ready to kick some butt.

For those who think Ohio State players could use a swift kick, Fickell might just be the man, said Dane Sanzenbacher, a senior captain as a receiver last year.
"It is a little bit ironic that he happens to be that type of a coach stepping into that kind of a situation where there have been problems with guys not taking care of business the way they should have," Sanzenbacher said. "To put a real disciplinarian in there could be a good move."

One Last Ohio Stadium Moment

Dane Sanzenbacher, one of the 2010 team's co-captains, was in Ohio Stadium one last time Sunday and before-hand reflected on ending his undergraduate academic pursuits in the place where he thrilled crowds in excess of 100,000 fans each home Saturday during his career.

"It will be bittersweet, obviously," Sanzenbacher, a marketing major, said this week. "But to be honest: it will be a sense of relief that I've gotten my degree. It will be nice to reflect on the fact that I've completed the school part...that I've done what I needed to do in that regard.

"Being in Ohio Stadium one last time won't compare to being in a game there. It will be cool, though, to have your last official university event in the place where you put in so much work."

Sanzenbacher graduates

Whether Joe Bauserman, the backup to Pryor the past two seasons, will be the starting quarterback for the season opener remains to be seen, but he now can boast of being an alumnus. The fifth-year senior was one of 15 current or former OSU football players to take part in graduation ceremonies yesterday.
Joining him were three of OSU's departed captains from last season: Cameron Heyward, Brian Rolle and Dane Sanzenbacher.
"There was a lot of hard work involved, and now there is a feeling of gratitude because this is the reason I came to college, and to be the first in my immediate family (to gain a degree) is truly an honor," said Heyward, who was a first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in April. "I have something to fall back on. It feels like a sense of entitlement to graduate from college."

Son-in-law is not off the table. She needs to finish college and he needs to make an NFL team (Boston Patriots) and focus on football.

My first post was a really just a comment on following thru and actually getting the degree he "earned". He is an great example of a Buckeye who did it right which is in stark contrast to several that are not (if you know what I mean).

2. Dane Sanzenbacher

I think the picture to the right sums up Dane Sanzenbacher's career quite well. He was a grinder, a possession receiver that could also make big plays, and a no nonsense guy that wore and respected the scarlet and gray as we hope all Buckeyes will do. He is the only 3 star recruit on my list (according to Rivals), was ranked as the #71 WR coming out of high school, and left school with nearly identical college stats as Ronald Johnson (USC) who was the #1 WR prospect.
On a personal note, I remember watching this tiny receiver catch a TD pass in a home opener, and his first collegiate game, against Youngstown State and said to my wife, "Good for him, that kid might not see the field much at OSU, so I?m glad he got his moment in the endzone." Similar to my prediction that Rihanna was a one-hit wonder, Sanzenbacher proved me wrong by snagging 115 receptions, 1811 yards, and 18 touchdowns. He never backed down from a challenge on the field and will go down as one of my favorite WRs in OSU history. For those that remember his less traditional TDs against Penn State and Arkansas, we know that he is the embodiment of the phrase "success is when preparation meets opportunity."

Dane just got a huge shout out from Gruden on Pryors Gruden camp. Said he was his Favorite OSU WR, and the most reliable.
He ended the segment asking who drafted him. Pryor said no one and Gruden said "Whats wrong with this world"

SAN ZEN BACHER SAN ZEN BACHER - did he get drafted? What's wrong with this world?

Going to love watching him play on Sundays!
