WR Chris Olave (1st Team All B1G, 1st Team All-American, New Orleans Saints)

I think there’s more here than meets the eye. Part of it too me is a reluctance on Fields part to look beyond Olave and Wilson and involve others in the passing game. You can’t catch the ball if it’s never thrown in your direction.

No disrespect to Olave, he is awesome.
Yeah other guys were open and he just wouldn't let it go and he got worse when Willians decided to run an out and up on a play he though he was supposed to run an out. After that he looked really scared to trust his eyes.

I think we saw Fields biggest weakness, which continues to be secondary options in passing game.

Undet normal circumstances either Olave or Wilson is his primary. If the primary is taken away he quickly progresses to Wilson or Olave as the #2 option. It’s at this point if nothing is available, he uses his feet. And often runs himself into terrible situations where he forces really bad throws.

Im not sure he’s the 2nd QB off the board. There are some glaring weaknesses. That said, he’s taking ownership, the year has been a clusterfuck, and he’ll get a chance to show improvement. As bad as Fields was, I think Day needs to take some ownership too. The playcalling in the red zone has been a pretty consistent bugaboo and I have no idea how you don’t force feed a guy who is averaging 9 yards a carry. Was really frustrating at times.....

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day hasn’t confirmed the return of receiver Chris Olave officially, but according to his Buckeye teammates, the talented junior pass catcher will be back on the field for OSU this weekend against Clemson.

The return couldn’t be happening at a better time.

Now that he’s back, however, he’s got some very happy teammates.

“I just missed Chris being out on the field. He’s a great leader for the receivers,” Fields said. “Of course, he’s a great player. I think having him back will make our offense better as a whole. I think me and Chris have a great chemistry on the field. So just having him back out there will definitely improve our offense.”

Bumping for his big game tonight in the Sugar Bowl! 132 yards and 2 TDs! CO2!!

Frankly, Olave is so damn good and consistent that I feel like we overlook a performance like this even when it's so incredible. The guy literally cannot be guarded, it's unreal. Maybe the best pure WR I've seen in a Buckeye uniform, hope he cements that in outdualing Smith against Bama next week.
