Exactly. Hoping Sayin learns to see what he has in that kid sooner rather than later. Because he blocks like a dog in addition to his route running. And he showed great hands on the only pass that went his way in Week 1.

I mean, he is open on the first part of that route 1 second into it. Imagine that just that part is his route. That's an easy quick open receiver option when we are having trouble moving the chains, or when the defenses are allocating 3 personnel to cover Jeremiah Smith.

The BP playbook is now:
1. THTGDB EXCEPT when 3 or more defenders are on Him. If so, then audible to play number....
2. Throw The Goddamned Ball to Someone Else.

I’ve seen this half-video floating around. Sadly enough, reposted by Brock himself on TikTok.

BUT there’s no way Sayin can get the ball to him when you look at the entire play, not just the half-cam footage. The pocket was absolutely collapsing in on Sayin with no time but to go to his first option and make it wide enough that it wasn’t an INT.

Better edge blocking likely gives Sayin enough time to adjust his targets.

I don't claim that Sayin should have thrown Boyd the ball on that play. The Ohio State folks who I saw post this video were in awe of the route. I am in awe of the route. The play had little chance of ending up as a pass to Boyd. Given the length of the route, Boyd himself probably knew that he would have been last in the series of progressions. Given that likelihood that he wasn't likely to see a target on that play, let us appreciate the full 100% effort that Boyd makes on every single part of that route. That's who he is. He is wide open on three different sets of moves throughout that play. He exhausted the player trying to defend him. But he also let his coaches know that he can get open on all the moves before the final move on that route as well.

Oh I very much agree that this was a beautiful route by Brock, I’ve just seen this clip blasted everywhere with fans complaining about Sayin not making the correct read. This wasn’t to you directly.
