WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion)

I would agree. I was in Lincoln last year. It was a truly revealing defeat in three ways:

1. The team was totally dependent on Braxton's ability to turn busted plays into gainers.

2. Fickell and that staff in general were perhaps the worst I've seen in the conference in many years. Absolutely clueless.

3. I can't believe Gene Smith thought that senior class was worth risking a bowl ban in 2012 by not volunteering one last year.

Braxton Miller is a quintessential fit at QB for an Urban Meyer offense. I'm thinking he and tOSU offense are going to absolutely take flight this season and throw the gauntlet down to serve notice to the rest of the conference and nation of whats coming as soon as the post season ban is lifted.
I won't be surprised/amazed if tOSU goes undefeated this season.
I'm hoping Nebraska wins @ the Horseshoe but realistically I fully expect the Buckeyes to take control early and never look back. I'm sure there's a little payback motivation burning deep down in tOSU's players over the way they lost in Lincoln last season after BM went down.
I'm kinda' fearful we're going to get hammered/blown out in Columbus.

Mobile QB's were our defenses achilles heal last season. Coach Pelini has said on a number of occasions this spring the our D-linemen will be in more of an attacking mode VS the read and react mode they were in most of last season. HOWEVER----not once this spring have I heard him discussing his plan to deal with mobile QB's which tore his defense to shreds last season. Braxton made our defense look like a bunch of high schoolers up until he got hurt last season.
I'm thinking as the season wears on all the B1G QB buzz will shift from DR @ Michigan to BM @ tOSU.

You are doing a great job winning over fans on this page because:

a.) you are willing to be critical of your own team when it is called for.
b.) you are accurate in your praise about one of our players.
c.) you manage to praise one of our players at the expense of a scUM player.

Bravo. Good form my man  !!

While I'm a Nebraska fan, I'm also a college football fan and appreciate special players no matter what team they are on. RG3 down at Baylor is a perfect example. I watched a LOT of Baylor's game last season just so I could watch that kids magic. I'll be watching as much tOSU as I can this season cuz' I'm thinking BM is going to be just as magical running Urban's offense.
Waaaaaaaaay back when AD Steve Peterson fired Frank Solich at Nebraska, the guy I was hoping/praying he'd hire was Urban Meyer. Meyer is an innovator and runs an exciting offense----many of the principles of which he freely admits he stole from Tom Osborne. Now that Urban is at tOSU and has the perfect QB in place to run his offense I'll be following tOSU closely. I'll be pulling for tOSU in every game except one. Sould be an entertaining season from tOSU.

Agreed bro. People forget that last years Senior class was extremely talented and very successful. You should never "pick-and-choose" what senior class you want to punish based on your opinion of the season success. That class included guys like Mike Brewster and Brandon Saine that were very important to the recruiting success of the Buckeyes.

With that said I look forward to a solid year by Braxton. I don't think he will win the Heisman but I expect to see a maturation in the decision making by him. He was never a horrible passer - he was just a freshman. The throwing motion comes with time and muscle memory.

Saine was on the Packers last year.

Impressive showing by Brax...

Sorry, was thinking of Herron then. Get over it ma'am.

As for Braxton, I'm really impressed by what we have read thus far in the off season. The first game probably won't be the measuring stick as to how far he has progressed in his second season under a new coaching staff. Im hoping the most he has taken way is leadership on the field. It was the thing that made Smith such a legend. If there were mistakes made he always took the heat.

Im wondering how much he will even need to throw with the stable of RBs we have this year.

Braxton is going to surprise some people this year...
Some??? I'm inclined to think he'll leapfrog just about everybody being talked about as Heisman candidates at this point in the pre-season.

The kid is a once in a Tommy Frazier kind of QB. He's now got the absolute PERFECT coach and offensive system to showcase his dynamic talents. Even though Nebraska is my team, it's going to waaaaaaaaaaay fun to watch BM and tOSU this season. I'm looking forward to watching the pyrotechnics on offense from tOSU and BM this season.
