BIG time get for this staff. Love having a tall, driven, rangy "athletic freak" as part of Zone-6. Also, love hearing from those covering him that he's a great person off the field. You can't have enough of those guys in your locker room. If Torrence stays at WR, I'm not sure what DBs are going to have to do to cover Torrance and Binjimen, especially in the red zone

Welcome to the Buckeye Family, Binjimen!!

WHAT DOES THE COMMITMENT OF FOUR-STAR WIDE RECEIVER BINJIMEN VICTOR BRING TO OHIO STATE?

Finding the right fit for your college football program isn't just about what happens on the field, but off it as well. Today, Ohio State added a key piece. How will that commitment impact the Buckeyes?

Boy, that escalated quickly.

Coconut Creek, Florida, wide receiver Binjimen Victor, a four-star wide receiver ranked as the country's 12th-best, has committed to Ohio State.

How does Victor impact the Buckeyes moving forward?

ON THE FIELD
If you've ever watched Victor, all 6-foot-4, 175-pounds of him, you've seen that he can be the most dominating player on the football field at any given time. Unfortunately, there are moments when he can be neutralized, especially by bigger, more physical defensive backs. What you're getting with Victor is a ton of potential.

He's big, he's fast, he can jump out of the gym and physically he's a guy who has earned a label with the dreaded "F-word."

"He's a freak," one source shared of Victor. "He's a grinder who wants to be great. He isn't afraid of anything that will stop him from getting there, either, whether it be competition, distance, hard work, or cold weather."

Another source familiar with Victor shared a similar point of view.

"Victor is a pretty raw athlete," the source said, citing a need for physical strength to be developed. "There's a ton of upside."

IN THE CLASS

Victor will join Austin Mack, who for months had been the only "true" wide receiver in Ohio State's 2016 group.

After the NFL departures of Michael Thomas and Jalin Marshall, and with questions surrounding the healthy return of players like Noah Brown and Corey Smith, Ohio State's need at wide receiver for 2016 and beyond is well-known.

With the addition of Victor, the Buckeyes now have 19 commitments in 2016, a class that had–until Monday–been feeling a touch stagnant but now is racing towards a tremendous finish. Two more commitments could happen by the end of the day.

The addition of Victor is another major win in the Miami area for Ohio State wide receiver coach Zach Smith, who landed Johnnie Dixon and Torrance Gibson in the last two years. The Buckeyes' momentum in Florida could continue in 2017: they're the runaway leader at this point for the country's top-ranked receiver in that class, Fort Lauderdale's Trevon Grimes.

I doubted that hed come north until it actually happened! Glad that we have some true WRs in this class to go with the Pivots. Victor could be a QBs best friend with his height and range. welcome to buckeye nation!mazzi-maz-as-a-banana-o.gif

I'm not big on the over-the-top comparisons to NFL hall-of-famers, but holy cow....with his body-type, he looks like a clone of Randy Moss.
I don't quite think he has Moss' level speed but I can see the rest. If he puts on 20 pounds of muscle, which I see very possible with coach Mick, he would be extremely hard for any DB to handle. The fact that everyone says he's a real worker just makes him even more fantastic for us to get. I see a Treadwell type WR for the Bucks with lots of opportunities to explode in this offense.

Yeah, I was just thinking in regards to body type, not so much as an on-the-field player. Just long, lanky....of course, if he weren't turn into a Randy Moss-level receiver, I probably wouldn't complain.

He's got the physical tools and the drive, but he's still raw, all things considering. His HS team pretty much threw the ball up high to him and he'd go and get it, so he still has a lot of nuances of the game to work on that he didn't have to necessarily learn at the HS level in order to dominate. Wonderful ball of clay for the S&C and coaching staff to mold, but any comparison to Randy Moss outside of his physical stature and "jump ball" prowess are premature, IMHO

I'm overjoyed to have Binjimen in the Buckeyes' recruiting class, but any comparisons to Randy Moss are not kosher.

Moss was a once-in-a-lifetime sort of receiver. Best I ever saw at the position.

If Victor turns into a player the caliber of a Michael Jenkins that is a home run. No need to compare him to Moss, who was the most physically gifted WR (and one of a handful of the most productive) of all time. Moss was one of the few players who even at the highest levels of competition just looked different, like a different caliber of athlete.
