Aw, wood-burning ones are so much warmer! ...but much more of a hassle

I prefer woodburning, but this is what came with the apartment - one of the reasons I chose this place, as my house had one too, and it was great. Used to turn the heat down for the house in the winter to save $ and just sleep on a sofabed in the family room... until I started to find footprints in the snow outside all the windows in my back yard, and decided I'd better stay off the ground floor so I'd have a little more warning if anyone decided to break in.

It will get at least 15 degrees Celsius colder on some days during the winter where I live. And Brutus1 we do get US college football up here and I enjoyed watching the buckeyes play so thats how I became a fan.

Dogs need time and attention. I bought motion alarms... and guns.
That was a precaution in case someone actually came into the house. More likely it was just kids goofing around, so I just installed motion lights outside and didn't really worry about it much. That house was still much safer than the previous place, where the guys trying to break in fell through the roof - luckily, when I wasn't home. My current apartment is very safe, as all windows and doors face a bunch of other apartments. Much, much better, and I'm lucky to have such a nice place.
