I've been to a couple of stadiums (Atlanta, Carolina, Cincinnati, Detroit) and never felt threatened when I cheered for my team. I think the fights that happen are few and far between and I think people claiming that it's keeping them away from attending in person are telling half truths.
NFL gameday costs are prohibative, there is no other way to put it.
I don't mind paying $60-80 bucks per ticket, but $9.00 dollars for a large beer or $8.00 for a large soda?
GTFO - that's highway robbery.
I would be anxious to see the reaction if a team took a stand against outragous concessions pricing. I bet the fans would rave with approval.

One of the most beautiful things I ever saw was after Holmes took a slant route 90+ yards for TD in OT to beat Cincy. A severely impaired Stiller fan screams, "Who dey? We d......" He never got the last word out because screamed at the wrong guy this time. One punch and zzzzzzzzzz. BTW, I wasn't the wrong guy. LOL
Was it right? Probably not. You need to know your surroundings I guess.
