"Worst sports fans in America"

I think the NFL does a great job of the in-game product and the entire gameday atmosphere.

I've been to a couple of stadiums (Atlanta, Carolina, Cincinnati, Detroit) and never felt threatened when I cheered for my team. I think the fights that happen are few and far between and I think people claiming that it's keeping them away from attending in person are telling half truths.

NFL gameday costs are prohibative, there is no other way to put it.
I don't mind paying $60-80 bucks per ticket, but $9.00 dollars for a large beer or $8.00 for a large soda?
GTFO - that's highway robbery.

I would be anxious to see the reaction if a team took a stand against outragous concessions pricing. I bet the fans would rave with approval.

I will assume you are a Falcons fan. If you were in Cincy the fans didn't care about you. Not a bad thing. There is no hate for ATL. It is when asshole Browns and Stillers fans show up.

One of the most beautiful things I ever saw was after Holmes took a slant route 90+ yards for TD in OT to beat Cincy. A severely impaired Stiller fan screams, "Who dey? We d......" He never got the last word out because screamed at the wrong guy this time. One punch and zzzzzzzzzz. BTW, I wasn't the wrong guy. LOL

Was it right? Probably not. You need to know your surroundings I guess.

Wait a minute, who was supposed to be the asshole in that story?

I have never had any love for the Bengals. I grew up watching the Browns, and the decision to give the Dayton and Columbus TV markets to Cincinnati gave me a permanent case of the ass against the franchise.

In the few trips I've made to Riverfront and PBS to watch them I have been aware of the difference between fan behavior at Ohio State games and Bengals games. Tattoos, knife scars, guys bellowing "Fuck..." in front of kids, number of folks up chucking or pissing in the streets goes way up on Sundays. That and the fact that half of them are wearing Notre Dame gear and the other half UK. It's not a crowd I enjoy walking around with.
