Woman gets 4 years in prison for falsely accusing man of rape

What is your solution? Try her as an adult for actions she made as a pre-teen? Maybe send her to juvie for a couple of years?

It's a shitty situation all the way around but going full bore after this girl isn't going to tip the scales of justice to the better.

It'll seriously deter any female, regardless of age, from falsely accusing someone of rape.

How does her age at the time of accusal change the fact that she falsely put her father in prison for more than nine years.?

I think the point is no one is surprised that an 11 year old would make a stupid decision, but for a grown woman - who happens to be a prosecutor - to make a stupid decision is far more...well...stupid.

There has to be a way to pursue charges against his daughter even though the local prosecutor doesn't want to.

So you want the prosecutor to charge an adult with lying as an eleven year old?

Fine. Explain to me how she has any right to charge her with a crime after all of these years. Maybe she is not stupid. Maybe it is not her "not wanting" to charge her. Perhaps she is just following the law.

I imagine he can just sue the [Mark May] out of her, no?
Unless her parents took out some "minor child false rape reporting" insurance when she was 11, not so much. The acts of a child are usually imputed to the parents as far as civil liability goes. I suppose he could sue himself - and then have a handsome settlement with himself. :p

Couldn't he sue her for the two years since she turned 18?

Is there a statute of limitations for false accusation that results in false inprisonment?

Those not listed fit in the "grab bag" definition. According to Washington State law, she could not be charged after all this time. And again, the crime would have been committed by a juvenile. You can't charge an 11 year old as an adult just by waiting until they get older.
