I've just assumed up to this point the WNBA was a massive virtue signaling effort by the NBA to show how enlightened they are by providing a woman's version of their sport (that less and less people tune in to watch btw).

Are you guys telling me someone besides the players girlfriends and parents actually take this shit seriously?

Got myself in trouble one day. Was speaking to a woman who was/is big on NAACP. She was telling me that they were pushing to get more Silicon Valley programmers to be people of color. Said numbers were disproportionate to the population. Said that was interesting, what do you think about doing that in the NBA? She turned and walked away. It's kinda like that in the WNBA. Make no mistake, ALL the players in WNBA are excellent players, heard that about 60% were all-americans. Don't argue with that. But much like the NBA, with Magic and Birdman, they were called 'the saviors of the sport' or somesuch once upon a time. Caitlin Clark is fulfilling that role, proof being the bursting attendances in the games she plays in. Am not really smart enough to tell the difference between racism and playing hard to stop a great player. But until the WNBA can wean itself off the $20 (?) or so million the NBA contributes, would suggest the owners/league be grateful for anything that puts butts in the seats.

Anyone else having trouble finding free WNBA games? Seems like all need a 'subscription' now, as in Pay-per-view. Enjoy the games, watch the Fever (Kelsey and Caitlyn), Atlanta (TT), and Sun (Jacy). Any thoughts let me know. Alexa seems to know where to find 'Ion', which I cannot seem to, but no way to Tvo it. Anyway, watched the Fever v Atlanta last night, and gotta say, the reffing still sucks. They're making alot of calls, got a kick of Griner giving the evil eye to the refs, who rightfully called her for moving screens. However, am watch traveling, offensive fouls, etc go on constantly. Back 'in the day', a player was allowed to hold their position, or even back up, and if offensive player ran into him/her, it was a charge. Now, if the player even blinks, let alone cross their arms in front of them to prevent injury, it's a block. Biggest thing, is that the players are not used to the 'new' calls being made, and are justifiably frustrated, as all they're doing is playing the way the refs have permitted.

Along the lines of my post above, does anyone know how Taylor doing in Atlanta? Know she was one of the last 'keeps' on the roster, and whenever have seen a game (usually partially toward the end), see her on the bench, but not on the court. Hoping that she doesn't become another Celeste, and get dropped when a more seasoned player becomes available. Thanks for the 'assist'.
