Got myself in trouble one day. Was speaking to a woman who was/is big on NCAA. She was telling me that they were pushing to get more Silicon Valley programmers to be people of color. Said numbers were disproportionate to the population. Said that was interesting, what do you think about doing that in the NBA? She turned and walked away. It's kinda like that in the WNBA. Make no mistake, ALL the players in WNBA are excellent players, heard that about 60% were all-americans. Don't argue with that. But much like the NBA, with Magic and Birdman, they were called 'the saviors of the sport' or somesuch once upon a time. Caitlin Clark is fulfilling that role, proof being the bursting attendances in the games she plays in. Am not really smart enough to tell the difference between racism and playing hard to stop a great player. But until the WNBA can wean itself off the $20 (?) or so million the NBA contributes, would suggest the owners/league be grateful for anything that puts butts in the seats.
