An update on BuckeyeBeliever's progress (from his wife) pulled from Bucknuts (he is BuckeyeTillEyeDie on Bucknuts)



Hi all
Just a short note to let everyone know rusty made it
throught the surgery.
He will be in the I.C.U for about 2 days then if all
goes well he will go into a room.
Will keep you all informed.

New Update and its not good

hi all wanted to thank you all for the wonderful
emails and to send an update.
Rusty has gone down hill slightly today.
He is currently being supported by the machines.
They have also put in a feeding tube.
His lungs have filled up with fluid and they are going
to do dialysis today to try and remove it.
Please keep him in your prays,he needs them all right
now.

hi
im sorry it has taken me awhile to respond.
Yesterday was a hard day for rusty so i was with him
every moment i could...
Rusty is still in I.C.U as they cant get him to
respond.
They have finally got the fluid off his lungs but he
now has an infection ,but they are giving him
antibiotics to clear it up....
He is now breathing on his own and heart rate and
bloody pressure now under control..
We are not sure what today will bring but I will try
my hardest to keep you informed...
Rusty also received a beautiful bunch of buckeye
flowers...Thank you all so much for....
Keep praying for him all.

Rusty took a few steps back last night...
His lung colasped and the had to place him back on
life suport.
they had to put the drain tube back in to the lung.
His blood pressure droped down to 35/25.
This morning he is holding his own.

BuckeyeBeliever (Rusty) is now starting to make a slow but wonderful
recovery.
He is now responding to us all and is awake alittle
more.
Still very weak and being supported by the machine.
But taking most breaths on his own.
They will try him without the machine again today.
God bless you all for your wonderful prays for my
husband.

This update was on Bucknuts just prior to the one Janny left here (post #10 of this thread)


Rusty is starting to respond.
he is still on support and now down with ammonia but
he knows we are there and communicates with us from
time to time.
They pulled the breathing tubes out yesterday but he
was fighting for each breath he took.
They put the tube back in around 5 pm last night.
They are just taking hour by hour right now.

God is finally answering our prays...
I know he will make it through this.

A few more updates ... things are looking good.


HI all,
Just a small email to fill you in on Rusty.
He is now out of I.C.U and into a step down room.
All tubes have been removed and pace maker has also
been removed.
He is currently on antibiotics and most likely will be
until they find out why his temp keeps going up.
The DR. will readjust his meds today as his heart rate
is a bit slow.
He is walking,talking and eating but all in small
amounts.
To look at him today you would not know what this poor
man has gone through in the last 2 weeks.
He looks GOOD.......
Im not sure how long he will be in there,my guess is
another week or so.
Rusty is working really hard trying to get his
strength back so he can come home.
He is doing a great job,im so proud of him.

Thank you all from both Rusty and myself for all your
prays cards,flowers and emails.

Rusty wanted me to say thank you for all the work you
went to getting a letter from Archie Griffin.....
WOW was he ever suprised....
It really lifted his spirits....
You Buckeyes are all a great bunch of blokes....
Thank you for everything justin you made his day a
little brighter....
