If you don't mind me asking, What happened? Sounds like you have an angel on your hands.

no worries Thump...
I don't want to push my spirituality on anyone, but I do truly believe that he did send me an angel in my time of need....without her, I don't think I would be here today...
that's the only explanation I have for her being with me...it's one of those: "what's a chick like that doing with that dude?"
if you are asking about my health, I was born with a hereditary renal disease...Alports. It is a triad, hearing loss, high blood pressure and renal failure. I lost a my brother and my mother to this disease.
I had a kidney transplant at the great OSU Hospitals in 1978. They said it would last maybe 6 years...it lasted 25...OSU rocks! Because the transplant kept me alive, I was blessed to be able to attend OSU and get my degree in Philosophy.
anyway...because of the meds I needed to take, I developed cancer, they removed most of my tongue and my lymph nodes in my neck...had radiation for 7 weeks...this was the episode of tube feeding and trache suctioning...
due to the life long high blood pressure, I developed congestive heart failure...they implanted a pig valve, tightened 2 other valves and rebuilt my aorta...this was the 3 weeks in a hospital chair gig...
together, we've been through 3 separate instances of radiation treatments...this done in Marquette, thus the sub zero weather...
finally, my transplanted kidney failed summer nefore last and I am on dialysis 3 times a week...her load greatly increased due to my illness...
unfortunetly, I need to have the heart surgery all over again, for the valve has failed...this was to happen this past September, but they keep finding more problems that need corrected before they perform the surgery.
It is scheduled for February 16th. I can't wait. I am so looking forward to feeling better.
here is the real gem in all this Thump...my wife, Janny, is going to donate her kidney for me for another transplant after my heart surgery....(only bad part is it will be done at scUM )
now, please don't take any of this as whining, just a list...
my life has been incredibly blessed...more then I can explain in a small space here...(I can share if you or anyone else ever cares to know)
so you see, my wife, my wife truly is an angel sent from above...without her, I wouldn't be here to read everyone's great posts, see the most recent NC, see my son grow into a man....
I'm sure there are many that feel that there wife is the best, but I'm sure you can see why I appreciate mine so much...
in closing, I hope you all will remember me in prayer next month...I'm looking forward to out next NC...
Go Bucks!!!!
