Right
he had a good breakdown of the play action pass to Bin Victor that opened the floodgates vs MSU. It started out like a zone read; Justin even tucked the ball so as to run with it. Bin was so open he was practically the only one in the frame when he caught the ball. Urban credited Day for having drawn up that play
There’s an argument to be made that OSU has seen absolutely nothing offensively either — a really strong and substantive one. Therefore, I struggle with just assuming UW just won’t be able to successfully rush. I understand that UW’s offense isn’t as “dynamic” or skillfully talented as ours, but still.
Ultimately I feel hopeful because we can throw defensive line personnel at them in waves. 4/5 deep at DE; 4/5 deep on the interior. My biggest fear is watching Borland try to chase Taylor down toward the boundary. Hopefully we have Friday back for it since he’s particularly good against the run.
I don’t think it’ll be easy for us offensively either. At the very least, I think we have an encounter early on similar to what we witnessed against MSU; they’ll bring a ferocious intensity and respectable tactical approach which causes us to struggle or go scoreless for a quarter. Thus far I love the combo of Day, Wilson and Yurcich. Even if they encounter early struggles I’m confident in their ability to adjust.
I could go on and on, but I’m more reserved. Doesn’t mean I don’t feel good about it though.
Nothing is ever certain, but this isn't first time we've seen Taylor... or Wisconsin with other elite Heisman finalist backs (Melvin Gordon).
So I think we can expect that the D can take Taylor out of the game. Where it gets less certain is how good is Coan... he may well be better than yips / Hornibrook.
If only we were SEC so Sconsin would only fall to 9 or 10.Way to fuck up our top 10 matchup, Badgers.
