How many "destination" programs are there? Meaning places where coaches generally only leave if they are fired or retire. I can think of a few in the B1G and SEC. The most ambitious coaches ultimately want to be in either the B1G or the SEC, and probably at only less than half the programs in those conferences.

Admission of USC and UCLA probably means curtains for the East West alignment which was never going to work anyway.

prior to last offseason, i would have thought Notre Dame and Oklahoma were on that list, but I would have been wrong.

Wisky is perfect for Luke Fickell.

He's Tressel Jr and perfectly comfortable running that kind of program. UW fans/alumni/admins are perfectly comfortable with getting back to being peak Wisconsin and can live with a 9-3 kind of year most years with a few special 1-2 loss years worked in.

Perfect marriage of coach and school imo.

Any coach that thinks UC is a destination program isn’t one I want coaching UC. In fact, if I were AD, I’d ask each candidate “Do you think of UC as a destination program?” Anyone answering “yes” wouldn’t get a callback.
