Veni. Vidi. Vici.
My belated thoughts on the game:
1. Wisconsin's offense is overrated. I heard all week (and just prior to the game, thanks to Matt Millen) how great the UW running game was and, in particular, how UW's offensive line is outstanding. Yet, when they faced a solid defensive front, they fell apart like a $30 suit. Six sacks could have easily been eight, ten, or twelve, but I'll gladly take the two pick-6s instead. John Clay isn't the feature back that UW fans think he is. In my opinion, he's a slightly more athletic version of P.J. Hill (which isn't saying a whole lot). The one bright spot of their offense, in my opinion, is Tolzien. He made some nice passes (and some bad ones) on a day in which his offensive line was beaten terribly. He was even better than I thought he'd be. UW's red zone offensive prowess wasn't exactly on display either--the offense didn't get into the end zone, and UW needed trickeration (and an uncalled block in the back) to get in the end zone even once on the afternoon.
2. Our defense is stellar. Much was already said above, but our defense absolutely dominated UW. The only time UW scored a TD, it was on our special teams, and even then UW only had the ball that close to the goal line because they returned an INT to the 10 or so yard line.
3. Our offense isn't getting a fair shake from what I've heard. A lot of the post-game comments were all over our offense, but I don't think this is quite fair. Admittedly, for much of the first half, the offense didn't do much. However, when UW needed a big stop right before the half, we drove the ball right down the field, despite starting the drive inside our own 15. For that drive, UW didn't look like it knew what hit them, as Pryor was running all over them, our WRs were getting open, and Pryor and Posey hooked up on a great TD pass. We needed that drive right before halftime, especially with UW getting the ball first in the second half, and when the chips were on the table, our offense stepped up and UW's defense did not.
As for the second half, it's kind of hard for your offense to look good when, due to your defense's stellar play and utter domination, you don't have the ball and when you do, your primary objective is milking the clock. It would have been interesting to see what the offense could have done in the second half, but I'm glad we had a big enough lead that we didn't need to--it's always good to be in shut-down mode at the beginning of the fourth.
4. Bielema's comments.
Weird. You often hear coaches say, "I hate losing," or something to that effect, but not often directed at a particular team, especially when that team isn't your rival. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Bielema hasn't ever beaten OSU while head coach at UW. Who knows. Just thought it was kind of odd.

4. Bielema's comments.
I hate losing to these guys. Absolutely, it's something I can't stand for whatever reason. The bottom line is I have to do it again. It's something we'll continue to look at until we have another opportunity next year.
