I looked over D-Links site, without really knowing what type of wireless router you have I went with some basics:

Is an overview of wireless Security in the access point. Here's some links for MAC Address filtering, not sure which is yours.

I use WEP, it's a 10 digit password setup and when people come over that you know/trust it's easy just to give them the WEP Key, however, if you're not regularly going to have people on your wiress LAN then you can add on MAC Address filtering.

What Model router is it?

Ok...set up the encryption with the 64 bit. Required a 10 character key...

Now I cannot access the network entering that key...what am I missing?

Even tried disabling the encryption and now I have no connection.

Ugh.

I hate leaving things unfinished but off to work...

The router would have restarted itself if need be, so I doubt it's that. Certain routers require you to use letters and numbers for the pass. Could have something to do with that. I will be home all day today if you wanna give me a shout later, I am sure I can help you figure it out.

Ack sorry, passed out last night. The easiest way to do your wep is to use numbers, on my parents I use thier zipcode + my zip code, comes out to 10 digits and it's easy for them to remember.

Also, when every you change anything on the wireless I would restart the router just to be safe. Also, you may need to refresh the wireless network list on the local PC.
